*Time skip by 6 months*

Rose's Pov:

It's been almost 6 months since we arrived in New York. I am working in a little school teaching children and Jack is working with one of his friends in a small restaurant. He does artwork in his free time and he has been able to sell some of it for a decent price. We have a 2-bedroom apartment now, though we don't get many guests. I haven't heard from my mother at all, which makes me a little sad but also at peace because I know she won't bother us.

I am broken away from my thoughts when I hear Jack come in.

"Hey love I'm home," he calls out from beside the door where he is unlacing his shoes.

"In the kitchen." I continue to stir the soup when Jack comes in and hugs my waist from behind. He takes a deep breath and rests his head on my shoulder.

"Long day," I ask him. It was Saturday so I didn't have work, but Jack still did.

"Very."

"You can take a hot shower before dinner then, it'll feel nice." He kisses my shoulder and I lean up to peck his lips once.

"Join me," he turns me around so I am facing him and wraps his arms around my waist.

"Ya, the soups done anyways, so sure," I giggle as Jack starts kissing all over my face. He lifts me up bridal style and into our bathroom.

That's it for the first chapter of this story. Sorry for the weird ending, but the second chapter will most likely pick up from right here. Thank you so much for reading.
