Death.

Death is really strange. In a more religious group, when a person dies, there are two options for them. Heaven, which will be judge when that person has a good, kind, clear records to what they have done in earth. While people who isn't, who murdered, and sinned, goes straight to hell.

Was that true? You weren't even that religious; you just knew because it's so common for people to know what might happen to a person when they die.

What about the non-religious ones then? What happens to them?

There are so many, many things of what humans needs to understand how this world works. It more complicated than what any mathematical predictions could say on how the world works.

You felt a sharp pain everywhere, feeling that something was pulling you. You can't open your eyes, as if they were glued on and would stay closed permanently. It was scary.

It took you a decent amount of time to find out you actually died. But, there was so many questions left in your mind making you wonder for more.

A while you kept thinking of baseless things in your mind, the pain eases down while you are still distracted. But you still couldn't see anything.

After a short while of enduring, you hear some short muffled noises, almost speaking gibberish.

「えっ、変ですか？」
("Well, that's strange?") a voice muttered, almost sounding like a grandma. You curled your nonexistent brows, trying to eavesdrop on what they are speaking.

You feel yourself being wrapped around by a soft texture almost resembling on how to wrap a burrito. Wait, are you a burrito??

「何か問題がありますか？」
("Is there something wrong?") You hear a gentle feminine voice that sounds worried all of the sudden.

「うーん……赤ちゃんが産む前も産んだ後も泣かないのはおかしいと思います。普通、赤ちゃんが泣かないのは呼吸をしていないからです」
("Well.. I find it strange that the baby has not cried even before and after birth. Usually, babies are not crying is because it is not breathing.") The first voice responds. As if sensing that she may have revealed a bad news.「しかし、心配する必要はありません。彼女は呼吸しており、分娩は無事でした。」("But, no need to worry. She is breathing and  delivery was safe.") The grandma's voice had an assuring tone lacing to her gibberish words.

You faintly hear someone standing up as slowly walking farther away from you. Then you hear somewhat similar to a siding door opening and closing. You then hear a sigh close to you and the doors opening and closing once again.

「私の愛する人、気分はどうですか？」
("My dear, how are you feeling?") A new voice says, more deeper than the other one.

「ご心配ありがとうございます、炭十郎。私も赤ちゃんも元気です。助産師さんの言葉が気になります」
("Thank you for worrying, Tanjuro. Me and the baby are doing fine, it just concerns me of what the midwife has said.") The feminine voice hums in response.
