Underneath the Shooting Stars(OC X Dr. Stone)

Chapter 1

A heart-wrenching sob echoes through the morgue as the mother clutched onto the charred arms of a girl covered in a white sheet. The doctor stood beside the metal door to give the women some privacy, but alas he couldn't help but feel sympathy for both the girl and her mother.

"She's too young, there's so much thing for her to experience!" the mother sobbed as she hugged her daughter's lifeless body close to her. She couldn't believe that the misfortune could befall her innocent daughter. Her beloved and only daughter whom she doted so much was pushed into the lake and got electrocuted.

"My condolence, Mrs. Jumaine. Your daughter was a wonderful person who could've achieve things that were beyond the reach of other people." The doctor said mournfully as he placed his hands on the mother's shoulder. But his comfort was in vain as the mother wailed louder, he couldn't help but to also shed a tear as that girl was also someone dear to him.

The doctor placed his hands together in front of his chest. He tipped his head downward and said a prayer.

"God, please give her another chance to live her life to the fullest." He was not as religious as the mother beside him, but he also wishes for the girl to be happier than she was before.

Yoyogi National Gymnasium, January 2019

The lights were blaring bight against the two teams at the center court. The crowds from all over Japan were cheering for their respective teams. Multiple cameras were recording everything happening in the court to broadcast it live. There's no way that they could miss the tension building up as the volleyball went back and forth from one side of the court to another.

"Now we're back with the Kyushu representative volleyball team, Fukuoka Daiichi High School, and Tokyo representative volleyball team Horikoshi High School! Both of them had advanced into the finals and now are currently raging against each other for the championship with so much tenacity!" The volleyball commentator, Keishaku Maburo yelled into the microphones as he watched both teams giving all they've got on the court. "Can you believe that all of the starter players are all from the first year?! This year's Spring Interhigh Tournament is getting lit!"

"That is correct Keishaku-kun! With both teams currently in match point as Horikoshi's ace lands another score!" His co-commentator, Yamaguchi Tensei, announced with the same enthusiasm, "Who would've thought their ace is five foot flat! I have almost mistaken her for a libero!"

"Kouku Annie, a foreign student from Horikoshi, is one of the most notable spikers that I had ever encountered ever since the rise of Nishida Yuji!" Keishaku added, "Now that you mentioned her height, did you even see how high she jumped?"

"OF COURSE, EVERY ONE SAW THAT! She was above the net already; Fukuoka's blocker was not able to block that!"

As if that's the cue for the service, Horikoshi's setter tossed the ball up. With her arm behind, she used it to give momentum for the leap and hit the ball as hard as she can. The ball zoomed past the net into the corner of the opposite, but Fukuoka's libero was quick on her feet. Barely able to receive the powerful serve from the opponent's setter.

"Such strength! It almost as if it just teleported from one side to another!" Yamaguchi shouted in awe.

Fukuoka's setter immediately ran to toss the ball to their ace. But just as the ace tried to spike it from an opening left by the Horikoshi's blockers, Annie did not waste a second and leaped to complete the three men block.

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?" Keishaku's jaw dropped, "That's an insane speed from a pipsqueak!"

"An insane speed that gives Fukuoka a sweet chance ball!" Yamaguchi added, "Look at their formation! What's this? They're having a synchronous attack?!"
