~two years later~
Connor's POV
Today was Evan's 6th birthday I was baking a strawberry cake "can Jared come over for a sleepover?" Evan asked coloring something "if it's ok with his parents then yeah" I told him putting the cake into the oven Evan smiled at me showing his teeth and the one gap he had from losing a tooth the other night I smiled at him he showed me what he was coloring it was a tree I never understood his love for plants I took it and put it on the fridge ruffling his hair I smiled "what'd you want for dinner?" I asked "pizza!" he said excitedly before quickly putting a hand over his mouth turning red whenever Evan got loud out of nowhere he got embarrassed I laughed ruffling his hair up again making him groan before hearing my phone ring "hello?" I said answering it "um hey Connor can you look after Jared for awhile?" Katherine asked "yeah um for how long? And if you don't mind me asking why?" "Well I was called to do a case and it's being moved to another state and I don't know how long I'll be gone" she said "ok yeah I'll look after him" I said "thank you so much oh yeah tell Evan I said happy birthday" she said before hanging up I looked at Evan "Jared's gonna stay here for a awhile is that ok?" He nodded smiling.
As I was decorating the cake I heard a knock at the door I went over and opened it "hey mr.Murphy" Jared said as I let him in he had a small box with him "what's that?" I asked closing the door "it's a succulent for Evan since he likes plants and succulents are really easy to take care of" he explained I smiled at him ruffling his hair he frowned lightly smacking my hand away "Evan's in his room" I said Jared handed me the box before running upstairs and going into Evan's room I smiled ever since Evan met Jared he's been more happy I put the box into a closet with the rest of his presents I sighed walking back into the kitchen and ordering a small pineapple pizza and a medium cheese pizza.
"All right can I trust you two to be alone?" I asked Evan and Jared I know I can trust Evan since he gets too nervous to do anything and just watches tv but Jared I don't know they both nodded "ok Evan you're in charge while I go and get the pizza" he nodded "ok daddy" I smiled before walking out the door and locking it.
Evan's POV
"So what'd you want to do?" Jared asked "wanna watch tv?" He nodded and smiled when he smiled I felt those butterflies again "what'd you wanna watch?" He asked sitting down on the couch "there's a nature documentary I wanted to watch" he gave me the remote and I intently turned it on halfway through Jared put his head on my shoulder and fell asleep I felt my cheeks burn probably turning red I looked down at him noticing the gap between his two front teeth and his glasses slowly falling off his face I gulped turning back to the tv that's when daddy came home "hey" he said walking in seeing Jared asleep and trying to be quiet "are you watching a documentary and paying attention?" He asked me I nodded not taking my eyes off of the tv he walked into the kitchen with the pizza i gently lifted Jared off of me and placed his head down on a pillow before going into the kitchen "should I go and wake him up?" Daddy asked I shook my head "once he's asleep you can't get him up" I told him grabbing a piece of pineapple "I don't understand how you can like that" I looked at him confused as he went into the livingroom and a few seconds later came back with a half awake Jared I was impressed he was able to get him up he gave Jared a piece of the cheese pizza he slowly ate it once we ate I opened presents and was very happy with Jared's but I was kinda sad that Zoe and grandma and grandpa weren't able to come daddy said it was because they were really busy by the time everything had been cleaned up it was mine and Jared's bedtime.
~a few hours later~
I groaned waking up I looked at my alarm clock it was 11pm I sighed walking out of the room to get a drink of water but I stopped after hearing someone I looked down the stairs seeing daddy with another guy I didn't recognize him but they were cuddling on the couch watching something on tv I slowly walked back to my room I got back in bed sighing as I looked up at the ceiling before falling asleep.
~in the morning~
I walked down stairs seeing the man just leaving but before he left he kissed daddy once he was gone I asked "who was that?" Daddy turned to me "oh that was Migule" I looked at him in confusion "oh um he's my boyfriend and is very important to me but since we just started dating I didn't want to introduce you two" I nodded pretending to understand when really I didn't "now go wake up Jared so we can eat".
