"in the end, she became more than what she expected.."
- r.m drake

Life is crazy.
All around, obscure.

Just when it feels like you've given up - life gives you the gift of love, of hope.
The things we go through and the challenges we overcome along the way are simply the things that shape us into who we are.

It may seem defeating, and meaningless, but I can promise you that in the end - I was truly happy.

Yes, I'm not the end of my road yet.
Being 18 gives me many more years to come..
But I'd say I'm at the end of my chapter. The chapter where everything collapses underneath of me - my strength is tested. But also the chapter where I meet the people I love the most. And grew for the better.

It's okay to grieve, to want to go back a few chapters.
But it's important that you keep progressing through the book of life.
That doesn't mean forgetting about your past, ignoring where you came from - it simply means moving on. Finding what else is out there waiting for you. Grieving properly.

Because I can assure you, you're not broken. Just bruised.

"You know, I'll always be grateful for you dummies."
Amy smirks, wrapping us all into a group hug.

"Amen to that."
Anthony chuckles.

Anthony is Amy's boyfriend, of 2 months.
She met him shortly after Ian and I got together - and I couldn't be more happy.

It was almost meant to be..
Anthony and Amy.
Ian and Ivy.
Cool, right?

"I say we go out and celebrate."
Ian says, squeezing me a little bit tighter.

"What are we celebrating?"
Amy questions.

"Anything we want!"
I squeal.
"To you guys, to Ian and I - to us!"

We all smile.
"To us!"
We shout out, together.

Ian's POV

I'm overwhelmed with joy.
Ivy and I have been together for 3 months now, and it feels like I've known her my whole life.

We still have our hard times, like when she reflects too far into the past or when I overreact when a waiter stares at her a little too long..
But at the end of the day - I love her wholeheartedly,
with everything that I have.

We're young, but I already have my mind set to marrying her.
My boring, cold life has been far better since she walked in on it.

Speaking of the angel, I can hear her hollering my name from the top of the stairs.
"Ian? Are you almost ready?"

I lean a bit closer to the mirror, studying my face one last time before walking out of the bathroom.

"Yeah, princess!"
I holler back.

I can hear her giggle, hustling away.
I've come to learn what she likes the most coming from me.
First and foremost, nicknames. Especially princess.
Secondly, when I toss her up and over my shoulder.
She says it reminds her of when we went out somewhere together for the first time.

"You mean when you were too afraid to jump off of the fence?"
I'll say, teasing her.

In present time, I feel her hand clutch my shoulder.
"They're outside."
She whispers.

"Okay."
I whisper back, placing a kiss on her forehead.

She begins to walk away - but I grab her wrist gently, throwing her over my shoulder.

"Ian!"
She shrieks.
"I'm in a dress!"

I chuckle, using my hand to cover her exposed bottom.
We walk out of the door - instantly catching the eyes of Amy and Anthony, who are waiting patiently for us in the car.
To them, this is nothing new.

"You're such a bum."
Ivy whines, punching my back.

"I love you too."
I chuckle in response.

Ivy's POV

"Martini?"
Amy asks, wiggling her eyebrows.

"Why not."
I giggle.

The waitress places 4 martinis onto the table, striding away.

"Here's to us."
Amy announces proudly, raising her glass up in the air.

"To us!"

All of our glasses clink against one another, small silence filling our table as we all take a sip of our drinks.

"I wonder what happens next."
Anthony says.

"What do you mean?"
Ian hums, rubbing my thigh gently.

"I mean, things are good. We've got amazing girlfriends, zero enemies.. where do we go from here?"

"I say we all buy a house in France and live there for 9 years!"
Amy smiles.

We all laugh.
"Oh, to dream."

And just like that, we begin discussing our plans for the future. Where we hope to end up.

I have to clue where I want to be 10 years from now - all I know is that I want to spend the rest of my life with these 3 lovely humans.

Cheers to that.
