2. The Change

We arrive at Rose, Trevor and Rosalie's house, and I wait back, wary of the vampire who are inside. I feel nervous, I don't trust them, they don't even know me so they could kill me! As Elijah goes to knock on the door, it swings open on the face of a short haired woman. I'm guessing this is Rose.
I am correct.
Rose invites me inside, and there is a small kitchen area, and 3 small bedrooms made of wood. She lets me have one of the bedrooms, and tells me I can sleep if I want to, and that dinner will be ready in a few hours time. I nod, and shut the door to the bedroom.
Around me there is a bed, a small closet, a chest of drawers, a table, chair, a knife and a rope. I'm not sure why there is a rope, but ignore it and lie down on the bed, wishing I could go to sleep, and I finally do.

I wake up to the sound of Trevor and Rose talking quietly outside my room. Talking about a deal they made with Niklaus. Wait- what? Niklaus? The man who wants me dead? I quieten my breathing and try to listen through the door.
"Niklaus has been notified of our capturing of Katerina, he's on his way."
My breathing quickens. Niklaus must not find me. He can't. I'll die. I grab the knife I knew was on the table, and place it, tip towards my stomach. I breathe 1, 2, 3-

The pain is horrible. I collapse onto the bed, screaming, waiting for the pain to end, and hopefully my life. This way I'll be useless to Niklaus, and he'll have to wait another 500 years until he can find the next Doppelgänger.
Rose and Trevor burst into my room, Trevor is gasping, and Rose is directly at my side, biting her wrist and feeding me her blood. I cry, this is not want I wanted. I wanted to die. But wait, if I kill my self with vampire blood in my system, I can become a vampire, which means I will be useless to Niklaus, but not dead - technically.

Rose stays until she thinks I am ok, but as soon as they leave to hunt, I gather the rope, tie it around a beam, and finally make the change, from a human to a vampire.
