XII.

"I know you did." I said as I moved away to stare at his face.

He was about to lean in for a kiss when I realized the food has gone cold.

"The breakfast is cold now so I'll go and reheat it for us. Go wash up first." I said as I tried to let go but he held on my waist and pecked a kiss on my left cheek before going to the bathroom.

"Okay."

I scoffed and felt my cheeks heating up from that sudden kiss.

I cleared my throat and calmed myself before proceeding to the kitchen to reheat the food.

Grandma helped me cook some stew and home cooked meal for Jaemin and the side dishes were the best!

As I was busy stirring the stew, I felt Jaemin's arms sneak their way around my waist and he casually rested his chin on the top of my shoulder.

"Wow. That looks so good." He said.

"It should taste good too." I said with a soft chuckle.

"This will be ready in a few minutes so go and take a seat in the dining." I said as I glanced at him.

He nodded and seated patiently while I served the food.

"Let's eat~" I said with a smile.

"Wow. Those look sweet." He said.

"Huh? But none of these are sweet." I said as I searched for what he was pertaining to.

I looked at him and I was dumbfounded when I realized he wasn't staring at the food but at me.

At my lips to be exact.

"Are you implying you want a kiss?" I smirked as I leaned on the table.

He nodded casually and I let out a chuckle.

"Okay. But you have to finish your breakfast first." I stuck my tongue out at him and he frowned like a spoiled kid.

"Stop doing that face in front of the food." I scolded him and he immediately took a huge bite of food and smiled cheekily.

I laughed at his annoying smile and ate the food as well.

"Mind telling me what made you busy aside from missing me?" I teased.

He smiled a little and I raised a brow.

"I was busy aiming for the best, I guess?" He chuckled softly as he poured my cup with orange juice.

"The best??"

He nodded and held my hand that was on top of the table.

"I'm trying to make you proud by studying to be on the dean's list this semester." Jaemin said.

"What? But you always made me proud, sweetheart. Ever since day one." I said as I held his cheek with my freehand.

"I know. But I want your parents to know that I am not a dumb, bad boy they thought I was. And besides, I treat this as a huge milestone for me." He said and I smiled genuinely, knowing that he does it for himself, too.

"Remember this. You don't have to please anybody just to make sure you're enough for me not even my parents." I said.

He kissed the back of my hand and nodded.

"Is it weird that I actually knew you'd say that?"

We exchanged chuckles and ate the food while chatting about the things we missed during the past year.

"So what do you want to do today?" He asked.

"I want to go out but damn I feel so tired." I said as I threw myself on his bed.
