Tonight We Can Dream

With a huff now Natania changed the subject. "Since we're on the topic of our love lives, and you can't escape me by hanging up," her glare was pointed, "when are you seeing William."

"In all honesty I'm not sure, and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do when I do see him."

Natania studied the blonde. Jaclyn didn't duck her head like she would have just a few years back, but her eyes spoke of her unease. They were something she could never tame

"What are you scared of?" Natania asked, "It's okay to have other things in your life other than dance. It's not forever, and what will you do if it ends? You cannot center your whole life around one thing just because you're scared you'll ruin it."

Jaclyn shrugged, taking the opportunity to focus back on her forgotten shoe, but as she bent over to pull on the ribbons Natania snapped her attention back. "Emma's engaged."

Voice small Jaclyn said, "Thomas didn't tell me."

"Probably didn't want to remind you."

While, it did sting to think the girl was most likely marrying a man she loved very much, Jaclyn had so much to be happy for in her life. Even if she would never get that.

Someone cleared their throat. It wasn't Natania's annoyed tone, but one authoritative and dulled by age.

Both girls stood straight connecting eyes with Miss. Lewis who was favoring something in her hands. Nothing had changed about the woman Jaclyn noted. She still seemed to outlive aging itself, and her demeanor remained unimpressed, but as she handed a very formal looking envelope to Jaclyn she said,

"Your show... It is good."

William, like most days lately, wasn't sure what he was doing.

He had paced outside the hotel door for a good thirty minutes flipping the item in his hands, and before he could knock it flew open.

There stood the girl that danced into his dreams every night. Somehow she was exactly as he remembered, yet completely different. Her face once round with youth was now defined by maturity. He remembered the day they had first met, how he believed a gust of wind could have knocked her over, but now...

She looked stronger, leaner, taller. It was the way she held herself even if she was completely shocked by his surprise visit. He saw it in her blue eyes, taken back and wide just like all those years ago.

"Will?" She finally asked, and he nearly jumped finally able to put a face to her voice once again.

Jaclyn clutched the ice bucket in her hand while trying to run a hand through her hairsprayed curls that she had just let done from a bun. If he would have told her he was coming she would've straightened her hair, put it up, or at least showered. Maybe even changed her clothes from the worn shirt and polka dot pajama shorts.

"Hey, Jackie."

And with those simple words everything burning her mind resolved because this was just Will. An older more mature Will that still had tousled golden hair, eyes that crinkled when he smiled, and smiles that stalled her world.

She stepped back allowing him, and finally took notice of the DVD case in his hands making her smirk. Yes, they were different, but they were also quite the same.

Attack of the Clones played on her computer both of them leaning against the hotel bed headboard. They laughed with the movie, Jaclyn ranted, and every time she did and William teased her obsessiveness.
