Josh's POV

"So how do you like the food?" My mom asks Adara and smiles.

Adara puts her fork down and smiles back.

"It's really good, Mrs. Hunter. I love it!"

Her eyes meet mine and I look down quickly.

Why do I feel this way?

I look at my food and stay quiet.

I finish my plate and walk to the kitchen.

I place my dishes in the sink and someone comes up from behind me.

I turn around from the sink and its Adara.

Damn it, she's so close to me.

She holds her plate and cup and just stares at me.

She breaks the silence.

"Um, excuse me I need to wash my plates Josh." She says looking down.

"Oh right, sorry." I tell her and move slowly to the right and lean on the kitchen counter, still keeping my eyes on her.

I watch her carefully as she washes her dishes, the way her hand moves along with the plate her hair slightly falls down to her face and she pushes it back.

She turns around and catches me staring at her.

Shit, Josh you're an idiot.

"What?" She asks me.

"Nothing, its just that nobody washes their dishes when they come over to my house." I lie.

Nice excuse dumb ass.

Oh well then I guess I'm your first." She says and smiles a little.

Oh my god please don't smile, you are making this so hard for me.

"Well I'm gonna be in the living room." I tell her and walk out of the kitchen and into the dining room, where my mom is still sitting.

As I make my way across the table in the direction of the living room, my mom stares and me.

"What mom?" I ask.

"I saw that." She tells me smilling.

"Saw what?"

"You know...how you you stared at her wash dishes." She smirks.

"Oh please mom, I wasn't staring at her, I was observing her." I feel my body tense.

"Psh, honey I know what it's like to fall in love with someone. The way I look at your father is the way you look at her." She smiles.

"Don't talk about you and him, mom because all you guys do is FIGHT and argue about the stupidest shit ever." I reply back now placing my hand on the dining table.
