I walked out of the coffee shop, shoving the cash I got back into my purse and looking ahead of me. I saw Elena walking my direction.

"Hey, Elena!"

She stopped, looking surprised to see me.

"Do you have anything on Katherine?" I asked her quietly. She grinned.

"Honey, you're talking to her."

Damon

Katherine was back.

Weeks ago, I would've been beyond happy to see her, but now?

"Damon, you can't stake her. We need answers,"

"Screw the answers, I want her locked in the tomb where she belongs," I responded, tuning out the sounds of people all around us. Out of all places we had to discuss Katherine's return, Mayor Lockwood's funeral wasn't the place it should be.

Shouldn't be anywhere, Damon, she should be dead.

"We need to tell Tatiana that she's back," Elena realized.

"On it," I said, flipping out my phone.

Tatiana

"How does Elena look like you?"

"I think I should answer these questions at another time,"

"You don't have another time, Katherine," I said.

"I have as long as I want, actually," She smirked. "It was nice meeting you,"

She started to walk off.

"Katherine, where is Natalie Callowhill?"

She stopped walking and turned around.

"Damon told you about Natalie?"

I nodded, watching a grin come onto her face.

"Now you're asking the right questions," Katherine said, walking over to me once again.

"Natalie is dead."

I felt the hope I had to figure out how I was related to her drain from me.

"Do you know how I look like her?"

Katherine laughed and turned away, disappearing before I could get any answer.

Wild Katherine on the loose. Come to Elena's.

I started walking towards Elena's quickly, ready to tell them what had happened with Katherine.

As soon as I got to Elena's, I didn't even bother knocking. When I got inside, everyone was in the kitchen leaning against the counters.

"She.. She talked to me," I breathed. Damon's eyebrows furrowed together.

"Did you ask about Natalie?" He asked. I nodded.

"Natalie's dead,"

Elena sighed. "That means we need to get the answers out of Katherine,"

"She faked her death for a reason, she was running from something," Stefan said. "And we're going to find out what,"

"Maybe she was running from Natalie?"

"I really doubt that," Stefan said, a thinking expression on his face.

"We just need to get her alone somewhere and get the answers," Damon stated.

"The masquerade ball,"

"What?" I asked, looking at Elena.

"If I don't go to the ball, she'll go. She knows the risk of people seeing both of us at the same time, right?"

"I can help," Caroline said.

"I'll go too," I said. If it meant getting answers out of Katherine, I'd do it.

"We're gonna need the witch," Damon said.

"I'll call her,"

Elena left the room.

"We're going to get the answers and then kill her right?"

"Damon," Stefan said, annoyed.

"What?" Damon asked in the same tone as Stefan.

"How about we hold off on killing her, okay?"

I could sense an argument brewing, so I left the brothers in the kitchen with Caroline, knowing well enough that she wouldn't interfere or make any decisions without Elena and I.

I have a dress to pick out.
