Chapter 20- The fight in Sokovia

Their target lock engaged on each other.

"Fire,"

I watched as they all fired simultaneously, and all of the screens went black.

I gave myself a small victory moment before realizing that something was seriously wrong.

There was a large crack running down the main street... not just there, the street a couple of miles down, too- hold on...

I flew up to get a better look and gasped. A large, circular crack ran through the earth, outlining the city.

"Is anybody else seeing this?!" I asked over the comms.

"Yup," Steve replied, seeming out of breath. "How bad?"

"It's outlining the entire city," I informed them, getting anxious.

"Hey, kid, how about you help us get rid of some of these tin men?" Tony suggested, sounding like he was in the middle of a fistfight.

"Good idea," I responded, swooping down toward the city.

Something grabbed my leg. Then another. Then another.

I was surrounded by robots, and they were all punching me.

I threw a few punches at them, changing up my repulsors and firing at them, but they continued to swarm me, no matter how many I destroyed.

Then, they all spoke simultaneously.

"Do you see the beauty of it?" Ultron's voice crackled. "The inevitability,"

I kicked one in the face, sending it falling down onto the earth.

"You rise... only to fall," Ultron continued. "You, Avengers, you are my meteor, my swift and terrible sword, and the earth will crack with the weight of your failure,"

I glanced back down at the city. Was it just me, or was the city beginning to...rise?

"Purge me from your computers, turn my own flesh against me. It means nothing," Ultron growled. "When the dust settles, the only thing living in this world will be metal,"

Rage bubbled up with my adrenaline as I punched one of the robots through the face. Another kicked my side as one punched the back of my head. I felt them grab at my arms and heard one charge up a laser from behind me.

"NOT TODAY!" I shouted, whipping my left arm towards my right and smashing one of the robots into the other. I ducked just as the laser fired, then fired my own repulsor at the one who'd tried to slice me clean down the middle. It was blasted to bits.

About 10 more tried to swarm me, but I kicked one while firing at another.

"FRIDAY, see these boys around me?" I half-shouted.

"Yes," FRIDAY replied ridiculously calmly.

"SHUT THEM DOWN!"

I punched another robot as they all powered off, dropping out of the sky.

I swooped down, ready to take the fight to the ground.

"BRYCE, YOU HAVE TO GET DOWN FROM UP THERE!" I heard Tony scream over the comms.

"Wha-"

I didn't even get time to answer before something grabbed my arms. I fought and struggled, powering up my thrusters and trying to fly down, but I found no avail.

"You've changed, haven't you?"

I heard Ultron speaking in my ear. A shiver went down my spine. I thrashed harder against his rock-hard grip.
