Bryce Russel-Stark's POV

Another hour and a half later, I was back at Avengers tower. I let FRIDAY remove my suit and ran to my room to pack up my stuff. I didn't have much- just a couple of sweatshirts and a couple of pairs of jeans. I changed out of my current outfit and changed into a more inconspicuous one, then gathered up everything I could bring.

I then ran to my lab and asked FRIDAY if the suit I had worn to get home could change into the shape of a suitcase. She said that it could and folded it up into one. I thanked her and threw all my stuff in there, asking FRIDAY if my gold and silver suit was ready for use. She told me that it was. I thanked her and quickly put it on.

Then, I rushed around my room, searching for a pad of paper and a pen to write a note with. I didn't find paper, but I found a pen with the Stark Industries logo on it. With no other options left, I ran to Tony's office.

I entered slowly, scanning the desk for some sort of paper. When I didn't find any, I searched the top drawer for a pad of paper. I found a blank sheet inside and pulled it out, only to find that it was an envelope with my name on it.

Now curious, I ripped it open and pulled out a letter from inside. It read:

Bryce,

I have some very, very exciting news- while you were in Kannapolis, sitting as bored as a very bored person, I took it upon myself to take you in. Yes, I've adopted you. I know I probably should've told you earlier, but considering that you like to send me to voicemail whenever I call you, I thought that I should wait until the process is done. It took about a year, as adult adoption does. Please know that I'm doing this because I care about you much more than you think, not because I think that you're weak.

No, you are not an Avenger just because you're my kid now.

~Tony/Dad

I stared at the letter, reading it through again. He was probably going to give it to me at the party, which he never got to do. I sighed and pocketed the note, searching around again for a notepad.

I found one in the middle drawer of the desk. I whipped it out and clicked the pen a couple of times, piecing together a note:

Tony,

I'm done with the Avengers. What's the point of keeping me here if I'm not one of you? I can do research for you from where I'm going, though I wouldn't be surprised if you fired me. I hope Pepper isn't too mad.

~Bryce

I didn't want to make it too long because I didn't want to tell him where I was going. Once I was sure of the letter, I taped it to the door to his office. Then, I grabbed my suit-case(because it's my suit in the form of a case... get it...) and rushed to the roof, where I took one last look at Avengers tower before taking off and leaving, hoping to never have to come back.

About 5 minutes into the flight, FRIDAY spoke into my ear.

"You have 38 missed calls from a blocked number. Would you like to call them back?"

"Which blocked number?" I asked.

"They are labeled as 'Ms. Potts'." FRIDAY informed me.

I sighed. "No. Anything else?"

"You have 140 missed calls total, all of them from blocked numbers,"

"Which blocked numbers?"

"4 from 'Bruce', 8 from 'Clint', 5 from 'Steve', 29 from 'Nat', 51 from 'Tony', 3 from 'Director Fury', 2 from 'Maria Hill', and 38 from 'Ms. Potts'."

I swore in my head. "I would not like to reply to any of those. Out of curiosity, what is the amount of average time between calls from Tony?"

"Approximately 5 minutes, though 23 of them were back-to-back,"

"Sweet Jesus," I muttered. "Do I have any voicemails?"

"You have 46,"

"Goodness gracious," I groaned. "From?"

"1 from 'Bruce', 2 from 'Clint', 1 from 'Steve', 12 from 'Nat', 23 from 'Tony', 1 from 'Director Fury',  1 from 'Maria Hill',  and 5 from 'Ms. Potts'."

"Alright, then," I huffed. "Ignore all,"

"As you wish, Bryce,"

FRIDAY went quiet again and did not speak for the rest of the trip.
