Regardless

I write so much of heartbreak
Or being two faced.
My lover wonders whether it's me I write about,
Or the people I see out and about

I write about such tales
He wonders whether I am human
Or is he dating an alien?

I dream such fantasies
He asks me or you a creature of the light?
Or do you hail from the dark?

I have insatiable habits
That makes him question
Whether it was my innocence he fell for ?
Or the sin in me he wanted to touch?

Regardless of his questions
He whispers against my ear
'I love you. And if not you. I'll never love again.'

With his lips against mine,
And his words in my mind
I close my eyes
Losing myself in his world
For the first time.
