Hey guys, I wrote this story three years ago. It was my very first aot fanfic and I realised there are some things that felt messy and needed editing. So I've decided to do some major editing of this story. I'll repost each chapter with the new changes.

SETTING

This story will take place in the Year 845 after Wall Maria's fall. The main teenage scouts won't be here, but there will be more focus on the older Scouts like Levi, Hange, Erwin and the original squad members. I think they deserve the spotlight cause they're underrated.

In this story, Levi has been a captain for two years, so he'll be younger, around 29 years old. His squad members will be new to him.

PAIRINGS

The only pairing in this story is with Levi and my oc, Ericka Becker (see below a profile about her). It will be quite a slow burn as I want to explore their relationship.

Personality: Caring, often underestimates herself, kind, empathetic, perserverance, lacks confidence in her capabilities, cooperative, loyal, naive at times and curious about the world outside her hometown and has trauma from seeing a titan attack in her hometown.

Likes: Reading, going for walks along the river banks, playing with the children in her home town, gardening and baking.

Dislikes: Being cooped up inside her house because of her parents' paranoia, people being mistreated and poor orphan children.

Love interest: Captain Levi

Allias: The members of Levi's squad, Hange Zoe, Moblit Berner, Erwin Smith

Goals: To be in the Scouts to have an impact for those misfortunate people and to experience freedom for herself.

Rated Mature - Depictions of blood, violence, some explicit language, some sexual scenes.

Plot

Set in the Year 845, during an expedition to the southern village of Wall Maria, Levi and his squad encounter a young mysterious woman named Ericka Becker.
Thinking she was injured from a recent brutal titan attack, Levi decides to mmediately bring her to the Survey Corps' headquarters.

After Ericka's recovery, Levi confronts her about her origins, and he later learns she had lost everyone she cared about. As he grows closer to her, Levi realises they weren't so different after all.
They were two lonely people, suffering with scars that could not heal.

Seeing potential in her, Levi trains Ericka to be a scout in his squad. However, when his feelings for her grew stronger, he must learn to find a silver lining between his duty as a Survey Corps and his emotions.
