Nineteen

I walked through the forest, I could never forgive myself for this. Never. If Maurice dies because of me... I'll hand myself to Silver, even if he hunts me down, I'll be waiting...

"Oh Scourgy~" The voice familiar as i turned to look the queen of vampires in the eyes, she looked excited, meaning something had happened "Take a guess of what I have for you" 

"I'm not in the mood for games Fiona" I muttered as i turned away and continued to mevoe forward

"Ah! I see, i suppose you don't want to say hello to little blue" She laughed as i froze

"He's safe with Silver..." I spoke as i glanced back at her

"Oh he was, I sent one of the lackys te raid the house, his scent is so unique and so tasty, I almost didn't want to tell you, just so i could drain him of every last drop" she smirked, while I glared

"Where. Is. He" I growled, as she smiled sweetly

"he's back at the nest, in my quarters more specifically, some of the elders are caring for him as we speak" She hummed

"And the catch?" I asked as i glared, she came close

"You have two days before Hyperthermia kills him to find the fungus, you bring it to me before then, I'll get one of my pets to heal him" she answered, even then she pulled me close and kissed me on the cheek "Now, want to see him? Only for a bit of course and then your not allowed to see him until you bring me the fungus, understand?" I could only nod, black smoke billowed around us and soon enough we were in the nest, vampires were everyone, both young and old, of low and high ranks, they all watched as their queen walked with her 'prince' to the room at the top of the stairs.

She took me inside and true to her word, Blue was there, he was pale and shaking, yet unconscious, a witch in chains was there, bound to the ground and the one keeping him warm enough to last till Fiona had made a deadline, Silver is going to kill me...

"I'll leave you to it Scourgy! Oh and don't think of breaking him out, otherwise a whole nest of Vampires will feed on him" She laughed as she walked away, followed by her guards, only witch and I were left in the room with my unconscious cousin

I wasn't sure how long i'd be given with him, nor if he even knew where he was... All i knew was that he was suffering because of me, I shouldn't have used the spell, if i hadn't none of this would be happening

"For a vampire prince, you aren't as ruthless as the others" The witch spoke softly, afraid...

"I've tried that, and it isn't for me" I answered

"I would've expected the queen to have devoured him, in such a frail condition, he'd be an easy meal..." She continued

"She's using him so i'll get her what she wants" I muttered

"And that is?" She asked

"Fungus... It gives vampires the ability to walk in the day and consume anything, only Blue and Silver know where it is" I sighed

"You mean the blood Fungus?" She rose a brow

"I suppose so, why?" I questioned

"It's said only those who haven't consumed mortal blood can use it's mystic properties" She answered "It's written down in sacred texts, it would have a negative affect on any with mortal blood in their systems"

"So even if i give it to her, she'll suffer consequences instead of the prize..." I mumbled

"That is so" She smiled, but then frowned "He grows weaker... Whatever the queen has said to you about healing him... It's impossible... Only an angle can heal him, and no one has been cured by angles in eons" 

I nodded, i knew that of course... It was always a lie, but if i failed, she'd make him suffer until his last breath, Fiona soon returned and told me the leave, but I now have a plan... But I'll need Silver... But since when did i listen to him?
