Vernon PoV

I sigh as I've been rejected for the fourth time by the same woman, Yoon Y/n...Yesterday I confessed to her, trying all ways for her to say yes

 I try to wait and be patient but...What can I do? I'm in Science class and she was just a few seats across from mine, as I looked at her she had another bandage on her cheek

 " Chwe Vernon, please answer the question. " I was startled

I stood up and fiddled with my fingers, I looked at Ms.Kang as she raised an eyebrow waiting for my answer

" Chwe Vernon! Detention after school! " 

" What's wrong with you?" I walk to the cafeteria with Dino, he was bugging me on why I couldn't answer the question, " Did you even listen?"

 I fight back and that's when he kept quiet, " As I thought "

 as we walked closer to the Cafeteria we could hear distant screaming, " Your father is just a cheater! " it was Baek Hana and Y/n fighting

Dino stopped me from getting any closer so we just watched

" No wonder why your mom left you! He had several women though she thought she was the only one in his life- HOW DARE YOU "

 as the echo of the slap was heard across the room, Y/n looked up at her, there were tears in her eyes, " YOU THINK I WANTED HIM TO BE MY FATHER, HANA-SSHI HE RAPED MY MOTHER " 

that's when the cafeteria was quiet, " He raped my mother and since she didn't want to abort me she left my father! So what? My father found me and kept me!- "

 " What is happening here! " she walked towards the two and Ms.Kang slapped Y/n

" Ms.Yoon detention! " she laughed hysterically, " And not Hana? How biased you people are-" 

" That is not how you talk to a teacher! "

 " Ms.Kang, I think I should be the one teaching you, Hana and I should both get detention, why? Well, she made fun of my MOTHER BEING RAPED" 

Ms.Kang was frozen, Y/n looked at her as if she wanted to kill her, " How would you like it if someone made fun of you being raped?"

 Y/n walked away, as she saw my presence we both made eye contact before she walked out of the cafeteria

" Vernon please make your way to detention " 

as my last class finally ended I got my backpack and walked towards the hallways

I saw Mr.Shin and he was just making his way out of the detention room

 " Ah, Vernon! There you are, just go inside and keep quiet for the next thirty minutes okay? I have a business to attend to at the office " 

I bow a little to him before I walk inside, that's when I saw Y/n with her head low

 ' They're actually not letting Hana have detention too?' I walk up to her and sat on the seat beside her

" Please sit somewhere else " I hear her mumble

I ignored her request and sat beside her, as she hung her head low as I listened closely, faint sobs were heard

I pat her back a little and slowly pull her into my arms, " What are you...doing..." she says

 " You can cry...Just let it out for a while " she crumpled my shirt a little as she cried on my chest

 her tears slowly making a spot on my shirt but I didn't mind, " Hana probably didn't know your mom was raped..." I try to comfort her

 " I wish I was with my mom..." I hear her silent whisper, I fix her hair and make her sit up, she wipes her tears with the edge of her long sleeves and she continues to sniff

 " I'm sorry..." she tells me

 I give her a small smile and she tilts her head a little, " You like-Um..." I chuckle

" Yes I like you..." she plays with her skirt, " Still?" I nod my head

"There are a lot of better and pretty girls out there, like over there " I didn't turn my head and just looked at her cute face

 " I only see you..." her ears turn red and she just looks at the chalkboard as if she never heard me

I guess it was a good thing I got detention.
