After Derek's surgery, Lexie and Meredith waited for him in the attending's lounge. Patiently waiting for him. Something was wrong and Meredith knew it, Derek lied to her about what time he was going to work. That was suspicious enough for her. Meredith sighed, sitting down in a chair after pacing the room for a few seconds. Lexie noticed as she plopped right next to her, running her hands over her thighs in a nervous motion. Lexie began to speak but was cut off when Meredith got up again and spoke.

"Do you think it is suspicious that Derek lied about what time he was coming into work?" Meredith asked, running a hand over her face. Lexie saw how nervous she was and tried to find some words of wisdom but was interrupted when the door flung open. Revealing Derek, who had a smile on his face.

"Hey," Derek spoke walking up to Meredith and planting a kiss on her cheek. "I am so glad to see you again." He told her giving her a few more kisses on her cheek. Meredith gave him a gentle push, making him stop and look over at her, frowning.

"Why did you lie to me?" She asked, she frowed her eyebrows togther as they looked at eachother.

"I-I'm going to see if I can get a ride." Lexie spoke before walking out of the room. The two were so focused on eachother that they didn't hear her or notice that she left. They just continued on, Lexie knowing that the conversation could get heated.

"A-about what?" Derek asked looking around the room, he let out a soft chuckle looking at her in the eyes.

"I-I feel like somethings wrong, i've felt it all day," Meredith started "You lied about what time you came in to work today, that was the start of the feeling."

"I did?" He asked frowning, he paused for a second. To think, then realized "I came in earlyier."

"You did?" She asked still slightly skeptical. Derek nodded, stepping closer to her and taking his hands, placing his hands on her shoulders. He ran his hands up and down her arms.

"Meredith, talk to me." Derek gently spoke, his voice in a soft tone as he continued to rub her shoulders. Trying to comfort her. He knew something was up and he wanted to get to the bottom it.

"Are you cheating?" Meredith blurted, her face growing pale from even asking. Derek didn't even hesitate when she asked.

"No. I'm not cheating, in fact I followed you around work before changing into my scrubs." Derek told her, he sounded hurt. Hurt that Meredith thought he was cheating. Derek stopped running his hands up and down her arms. He sighed running his hands through his hair.

"I-I'm sorry. I can trust you, it's just that you lied about the time and I got nervous," Meredith rambled and watched Derek frown and take her hand in his.

"It's okay Meredith, I get it," Derek spoke "Let's just go home, we're both tired."

They both drove seperatly, which made her nervous. Meredith followed him to his car, his walk showing how frusterated he seemed and sad. She watched as he got into his car and started it, he stayed in his car for a few moments before putting his car into gear and leaving the parking lot. It gave Meredith time to hop into her car and follow him him, except he wasn't going home. Instead he turned right and not left.

Suspisions grew in her stomach only making her want to continue to follow him, but she didn't. She didn't want to see his car pull into some other girls house and walk up to her door. So Meredith took the left turn to go home and call her person. Tears fell from her eyes as she let her mind wander. Thinking that Derek was cheating, it hurt her. Who wouldn't be hurt?

After many tries to phone Cristina she never answered, so she layed in bed still in her street clothes. Derek had texted her, a smile was brought to her face thinking it was Cristina. It was just him telling her that he was going to be a little late and trafic was heavy. But why? Why is he going to be late?

It was an hour later, after she paced the room, took a shower and tried calling Cristina again. Derek walked into the room mid pace. He saw the look of sadness she gave him when she wipped her head toward the door. Meredith was about to speak, to yell at him for hurting her. But she saw when he had in his hands, she saw the love he had in his eyes. Meredith also saw how conserned he looked.

"Look, Cristina called me when I was at the grocery store," Derek began to speak, Meredith nodded. Listening to him speak. "At first I was going to get you all of these corny things. Some stuff," Derek added, placing a bag on the bed and some roses.

"Derek-" She muttered stepping closer to him, tears continued to fall from her eyes.

"I know, I know you don't like corny things but you had a bad day and I wanted to do something nice. I wanted to suprise you," Derek spoke "I would have gotten home sooner but I also got your favorite food." He added taking the to-go bag and setting it on her desk. Derek looked over at her and swallowed. He'd never cheat, he didn't even want to cheat. He loved her too much.

"Derek, thank you. I love it." Meredith spoke walking up to him and giving him a tight hug. Not wanting to let go. Derek held onto her, giving her small kisses on her neck and cheek.

"I love you too much to cheat," He whispered into her ear. He pulled back a strand of her hear and took her face in his. He looked her in the eye. "I am not cheating okay. You are my wife, we are forever." He added, his tone was soft and comforting. He continued to place soft kisses across her face and stopped again. Running his fingers through her hair, admiring her.

"Good, because if you ever cheat on me Derek-."

"I know, I know. You'll hurt me," He whispered, giving her a hug again "We should eat before our food gets cold."

Meredith nodded, watching as he took a old sheet from her closet and place it on the floor and going into the bathroom for candles. He lit four candles and placed them around the room and dimmed the lights. When he was done setting everthing he motioned for her to sit, he wore a smile on his face. It made her smile, seeing him this happy. He was happy to do all of these things for her.

"We have to make this somewhat romantic, right?" Derek spoke, letting out a laugh. Meredith nodded, giving him a big smile. "Don't worry, i'll take you on a real date soon." Derek added

"This is nice. We're at home and it's very cozy in here. I love it!"

"I'm glad." He whispered getting into his food, he watched as she did the same as he did. She looked happy, calm even. Derek couldn't help but smile.

When they finnished eating, Derek had another thing on his mind.

The night consisted of a romantic evening where both Meredith and Derek talked and laughed as the night went on. With Meredith having a terrible day, Derek had his focus on her. He wanted her to fee better and yet she was feeling better as the night went on. Derek did all of these romantic things for her. Making her feel all warm and happy.
