Chapter 11- Tony yells(actually yells) at me

Start from the beginning

Natasha sighed. "Alright then,"

Natasha and Steve helped me dismantle the suit. When all the parts were off, they all snapped back together as though they were magnetic. I set it in the corner of what appeared to be the living room.

"Stark made you that?" Steve asked.

"I guess," I responded.

I heard a door open from another room and slam closed.

"Did I miss anything?" asked Tony's voice. I tensed up. When nobody replied, he poked his head into the living room. When he saw me, he stepped all the way in and gave me the most fatherly look I'd ever seen on him ever.

Then, it slowly changed to anger.

"You. Should. Not. Be. Here," he growled.

I looked down at my feet, nervous and anxious.

"How did you even get here?" he demanded.

"I tracked your suit," I replied quietly.

"I don't have a tracker on my suit," he pushed further, his voice growing louder.

"I broke into the weapons system and asked FRIDAY to locate it for me," I explained, keeping my eyes glued to the ground.

"What have I told you about hacking into my stuff, Bryce?" he glowered. "I gave you a warning, and yet you still continue to-"

"What if you were in trouble?!" I demanded. "What if you needed someone at your back and I wasn't there?"

"Maybe," Tony said, trying to keep his voice even. "There's a chance that we could have gotten into that scenario. But we wouldn't have called for you. You know why? YOU AREN'T AN AVENGER!"

He paused, and silence engulfed the room. Steve and Natasha started to toss Tony a look, but then quickly glanced down.

"You are an employee," he said, slowly. "You work for us, not with us. I made that suit to protect you. Because I don't want you to get hurt if we're in a battle. Because when we're fighting Ultron, I don't want you stuck in the middle without protection! Do you understand what I'm saying?!"

I glared at him, tears starting to well up in my eyes through my anger. "My real dad never shouted at me," I growled, and flung myself at the door, sprinting out of the house and refusing to turn back as Tony burst out after me and shouted my name.

I was done.

I was so done.

I sprinted through the fields and into the nearby forest but did not stop running until I reached a good length away from it. From there, I plopped down on the ground, propped myself up against a tree, and cried. Apparently Tony hadn't tried to follow me, because even after a couple of minutes, nobody came to find me.

When the sun started to go down, I weighed my options. I could go back and face Tony's wrath again, or I could get out of this forest and try to find a place to deck out for the night.

I went with climbing the tree I was up against until I could see something.

I got high enough to notice that I could still see the house, which was good. I could also see Tony, Natasha, Steve, and Ava, all outside, split up and probably looking for me.

I wasn't going back, and that was final.

I glanced around some more to find that the back door was left open. I remembered the suit in the living room and wondered if I could... no... why would that work...

It was worth a shot.

I stuck out my arm and said, "FRIDAY, deploy," as loud as I dared. I wasn't close enough. I was going to have to sneak around the Avengers and deploy my suit.

I climbed down the tree and snuck through the shadows. Luckily, the light was on my side and casting large shadows with the trees. I finally moved around the forest, avoiding sight as I made my way to the back door. From there, I snuck along the wall, getting as close as I could to the back door. I made sure that Nat, Tony, Steve, and Ava were all pretty far away as I said, "FRIDAY, deploy," once again.

This time, the repulsers flew through the door and attached themselves to my hands. I flew back into the forest just as the rest of the suit attached itself to my body.

"Hello, Bryce. Where to?" FRIDAY asked.

"First, Avengers tower. Then, home," I said. "Because clearly, they don't need me,"

"Which 'home'?" FRIDAY asked.

"Then one in North Carolina," I replied.

"Shall I contact Mr. Stark and note your absence?"

"No! No, he already knows that I'm gone. Also, block his contact," I ordered as FRIDAY launched me into the sky. I watched as Clint stepped out of the back door, watching me fly away and alerting the others.

Tony stuck out his arm, just as I had.

Oh, no. Nope, not today, Mr. Stark, I thought to myself. "FRIDAY, I need you to pull up my central program runner and run my main hacking program,"

FRIDAY did as I asked, her work showing up in front of my eyes.

"Great," I told her what to type in and where. I had to hurry, though. I could see the Iron Man taking up off the ground.

"Incoming call from Mr. Stark," FRIDAY alerted me.

"I thought I told you to block him!" I protested. "DECLINE!"

The scarlet and gold suit was gaining on me. I had to act fast.

"That's it! Run program, FRIDAY!" I exclaimed.

"Yes, ma'am,"

Suddenly, Iron Man's suit completely malfunctioned, powering off every thruster on his suit. He managed a soft landing with his backups, but it wasn't enough power for him to continue chasing me. I watched him give up, sitting down and watching me shoot off into the night sky.
