Hiccup's POV:

"GOOOOOD MORNING, Dragon's Edge!" Ruffnut's voice blared out from the blowhorn, waking me with a start. Lately every morning Ruffnut, Tuffnut and Chicken would speak into the large blow-horn on the cliff overlooking our huts, filling us in on the "daily announcements."

I rolled over in bed, groaning. "-anyways, so on with the daily announcements-" continued Tuffnut.

Groaning, I grabbed my blanket and pulled it over my head. I closed my eyes, trying to fall back asleep. A few minutes later, I could feel myself drifting off when the door to my hut opened.

"Hiccuuuuup," drawled a very familiar voice. "Get up. Today's the day."

"Nooo." I pleaded. "Let me sleep, Dragon's Edge Mistress." Astrid mock gasped. I heard her footsteps draw closer. I felt the blankets over my head being tugged off, and Astrid lay on me. She wasn't heavy, but it wasn't pleasant to have her lay on me while I'm trying to sleep.

"Come on, get up. Don't make me make you."

"No." I said, like a child refusing to eat her vegetables.

"Don't make get Toothless-"

"Okay I'm up! I'm up!"

"Good."

I grumbled non audible things while she kissed my cheek, smirking. She got off of me and walked towards the door. Groggily I sat up, yawning and stretching.

I grabbed my prosthesis leg and attached it, getting up to walk out the door. When I stepped out my door, the sunlight was so bright I had to shield my eyes from the light. I closed the door behind me, and stretched again.

"Took you long enough." Astrid came up behind me, resting her hand on my shoulder. " I had a late night." I mumbled exhaustedly, kissing her cheek.

She looked at me and smiled, her periwinkle blue eyes twinkling. "RUFFNUT! TUFFNUT!" Heather yelled. I sighed. "So much for a trouble-free morning." I muttered. "We'd better go see what's up." Astrid said resignedly, dropping her hand from my shoulder. Everyone at Dragon's Edge knew about us, but Astrid and I weren't too big on PDA.

Walking into the kitchen, we found a furious looking Heather shrieking at the twins, who were laughing and smiling evilly. "For Thor's sake, what did you two do now?" I asked exasperatedly.

An hour and a half later after the "Twins in the Kitchen" episode and breakfast, we all started to pack our bags to go to Berk. It was my Dad's birthday tomorrow, so we agreed that we'd stay at Berk for a week, then return to the Edge.

Toothless was laying on his side lazily, watching me pack. I picked up my gift for Dad, a new spyglass I had made myself. I was about to pack it into my bag when Toothless warbled, stood up and nudged me with his snout. "I know you're anxious to go, bud."

He nudged me again, this time a little harder. "I know, I know." He grumbled impatiently, and bumped his snout into my side for the third time, looking out the open door. At the threshold, sat a yellow Terror, with a scroll in its claws. "Oh, you were talking about that. Sorry, bud." I scratched his neck in his favorite spot to make up for it. Purring contentedly, he laid down on the floor, closing his eyes.

Chuckling, I walked to the door and picked up the Terror, relieving it of its message. He climbed to the top of my head, squawking. I opened the letter, and read:

Hiccup Haddock,

I have just received this poster from one of Throk's missions for me. I am sending this so you can be on your guard. Be careful.
