"I have a gift for you." Father lifts the lid of the box. It is a gold themed dress, with such diamond shaped pattern and a beautifully decorated stomacher. "It's beautiful," breathed Katherine, her eyes glimmering with joy as she pulls it out.
"Thank you, Father," Katherine smiles whilst embracing her father's hand.
"Go on then," with a proud smile, the governor tells the maids to dress his daughter in the golden garment.

Few minutes pass, Father gets up from a chair. "Well then, I shall go to wake your sister up. See you later, Katherine,"

The maids put the undergarments just enough on Katherine, even though it somehow felt much loose than her usual bodice. They style her dark hair into a simple hair bun, with a hair curl at the back. Katherine chooses her own jewellery, she picks a double-strand pearl necklace with a pair of gold and pearl earrings. The maids help her wear a pair of white shoes. Katherine takes a matching coloured fan, knowing that the weather will be warm.
