Chapter 2- Tony yells(not really yells) at me

I sighed and looked down at my feet. "I'm sorry, Mr. Stark, I just-"

"Why would you hack into JARVIS again, steal some information and download it to your computer without even asking me for it first?" Tony demanded.

"I wanted to know, and I thought that everyone knew about it except me, and I was mad that you guys wouldn't tell me anything because we're supposed to be a team-"

"A team? Yes. The Avengers is a team. A team of fighters. You aren't an Avenger, Bryce,"

I pulled my mouth into a thin line and nodded, silently. He was right. I wasn't an Avenger.

"I don't want to have to find out about this again, Bryce. This is your only warning,"

"Will you fire me?" I asked, my eyes still locked on the ground.

"No. I'll remove you from your post, yes, but I won't fire you,"

"Okay," I replied, ashamed.

Tony approached me and clapped me on the back. "Don't stress about getting caught up. We'll fill you in. For now, you should prepare for the party,"

"Party?"

"Yeah. I'm throwing a party tomorrow, you're invited. Surprise,"

"Thank you, Mr. Stark,"

"No problem," he started to walk back out of the room. "Be prepared to meet the not-so-new girl,"

"What?"

"Ava. Ava Wilder. Be prepared to meet her. She's the new recruit, and she's excited to meet you,"

Before I could ask any questions, Tony walked away.

I slowly approached my computer again, deleting the lines of code I'd put in.

A few seconds after thinking, I added new ones. 

Tony was going to kill me.

I researched "Ava Wilder". The most common result I got was a video from three years ago, so I watched it. 

The screen showed New York, seemingly soon after the attack started. A girl with strawberry blonde hair stood on the roof of a building. One of the aliens fired a laser at her. It hit the girl head-on, and there was a flickering flash of violet before she fell from the roof to the ground. After a couple of seconds, she sat up as though nothing had happened.

What?

I replayed the video, this time at .25x speed.

The girl on the roof, a laser-like beam firing at her... wait, was that-

"Loki?!" I involuntarily exclaimed.

Loki was riding the alien that shot at her, which shocked me. So he was a part of the fight, I was just unconscious at the time.

The video continued. The beam slow-motion hit her, and a second before it made contact, the girl's hands emitted a deep violet light that soon surrounded her. After another second, she was sent flying off the side of the roof, her hands still glowing. She hit the ground as an unconscious body would. After a few more seconds, she sat up, looking entirely fine.

"Woah," I whispered.

Now intrigued, I scanned around for more stuff about Ava Wilder. There were a couple of sightings of her with Steve Rogers, a lot of social media posts saying that they thought that she and Tony Stark or Steve Rogers were related, but also-

"What's this?" 

Another clip, this time a live stream. The same girl was there, on the top of Stark tower, the streamer said, and she was battling with Tony Stark. She lept at him, stopping him from firing his repulsers at the glass of the penthouse and dooming everyone. He blasted her in the chest, sending her over the edge of the tower. She hung on for dear life.
