"have you heard the gossip that's been going around lately?"
"about what?"
"that jaeyun and jieun are dating! she's so pretty, i knew they'd make a perfect match."
i blinked at my bestfriend, not processing what she had just told me. she was looking happy, since her prediction about the couple came true. of course, she'd be happy considering i hadn't told her about my crush yet..
"what? no way," i laughed, "jaeyun must have told me about it if it was true," i told her.
"why would he tell you? are you his best friend? are you even close with him?" my best friend argued.
i remained silent. because maybe even i didn't know the answer to this. was i close to you, jaeyun? maybe no, because if i was then you wouldn't have hid such a thing from me, right?
feeling sullen by the events, i carried around a dejected look that day.
but i didn't cry, because i knew you had to break up with her one day eventually, and she'd remain as nothing but a cold memory to you.
because in the end, i only wanted you to think of me as a special someone who actually mattered to you. nothing more or less.
