It was you all the time
The shadow behind the wheels
I feel you everywhere
And for every road I take,
I keep on coming back to your home
Sometimes it's as quiet as my room at midnight without the records playing
Sometimes I hear your mother's voice
And when I'm lucky enough, I get a glimpse of you
Only to end up crashing myself again
Making the wounds I healed for months
Ache like the first heartbreak you gave
Sometimes I'd rather stand next to your bedroom window
Even though I can't see you in your old room anymore
Where my clothes used to scatter on the floor
Till you made me collect them that day
Said once I leave the door I'll never return again
It must've been a mistake to let you know me
Of what turned you off, I have no idea
But I know it's probably on me
And if we share the blame
I'd take the fire and yours the flame
It must be true
Once you love someone, you will never be able to un-love
Because as how much I hate you for cutting me off
I still melt whenever I hear your name
And all of those memories will flash before my eyes
I'll remember everything
Everything that made me adore your name
From your sweet little smiles to the texture of your hand as you rub mine
The way I found my favourite spot to sleep
As I took all my courage to snuggle in your arms
My heart was beating crazy, afraid for you to get freaked out
But, darling, you didn't pull back and left me like that before everyone's eyes
Blinded by the things they think is right
We made our lives memorable those summers
And I wonder if something changed in those places
The La Herminia, which sits so heavenly under the scorching sun
Of which was known to bear the falls of our love
I wonder how many ladies and lads swam after our last time
Have they finally found the daisy
Or no one's still getting a clue of what's inside the box?
Oh, the long open road
That leads us from your home to the Eternal Gardens of peace and quietness
If our steps had marks
I wonder how many feet stoop over them
One thing's for sure
They'll never erase our existence
Coz I still see our shadows side by side
Talking about our long lost loved ones
And when I drive past the school we used to call ours
I have clear pictures before my eyes
Of us walking with our friends, I wonder how they are doing right now
Are they still blind or finally saw the ring that used to belong in our hands?
