"I been dying to get those books," I said and he laughed
"well we could get them tomorrow you need to get ready they will be here soon," he said and walked out of my room and I went into my closet and picked out an outfit I was wearing a white long sleeve shirt and a denim skirt and black strap heels

I straighten my hair and did natural makeup since we were staying home I should have stayed in my pj's I stayed in my room until the guest got here
after like twenty minutes I heard the doorbell and ring and my mom called me down I went downstairs and saw a man and women they looked fairly nice
"This is my daughter Cordelia honey this is claire and tom black," my mom said and I smiled and shake there hand
"hello it nice to meet you two," I said and the women smiled and the man had a cold face I couldn't really read it
"it lovely to meet you," Mrs. Black said
"my stepchildren should be here soon," she said and I nodded
"oh come on let take a seat till they get here," my mom said and we walked into the family room
"We understand your back home Cordelia how does feel," Mrs black asked me
"um it been good," I said with a small smile they got into deep conversation and I zoned out of it like ten times the door belled ring and the maid went to open the door and then one boy and a small girl walked into the family room
"oh these are our kids caiden, and raven," Mrs. Black said and I smirked at caiden who was already glaring at me
I finally have a name to put the very handsome face that clouded my mind since I bumped him we all sat down dor dinner and just for my luck caiden sat right in front of me
"so caiden are you ready to take over the business," my father asked him
"yes sir I think I'm more than ready," he said and my father smiled '
"good I cant wait to see things you will do to it," my father said
"is august ready to take over," caiden father asked
"I'm more than ready just waiting for my eighteen birthday," august said and I rolled my eyes
"mhm and Cordelia what are you gonna do," Mr black asked me
"I'm taking over the business and helping august as well it is half our birthright," I said and he nodded
"oh Cora it was your first day how did it go," my mom asked me and their eyes was on me again
"it was fine nothing really happened I actually made a friend," I said and my mother said
"just one friend I thought you would have more," Mrs black asked me and I laughed a little
"im not a people person and all the other girls there seem fake," I said and she nodded
"one friend is fine I had one friend when I went to school and she ended up being your aunt," my mom said I knew she was referring to aunt ava
they talked more and made jokes I learned that the black family were investors to mafia families making so they knew about the mafia world but besides that, they were a very famous and rich family top of companies in the world I understand caiden is next and line and raven is his little sister and that Mrs black is the second Mrs black I wonder what happen to caiden and raven mom I would ask but it ain't my business
once dinner was done caiden parents and my parents went to go talk more in the family room and I went outside to get some air but was surprised to see caiden already out here I walked out and took a seat near the fire
"you have a nice place," caiden said and I looked at him but he was looking into the fire
"Thanks, you have a nice little family your mother and father seem great," I said and I heard him scoff
"she isn't my mother," he said
"sorry that was my mistake," I said and he gave me a dry laugh
"it also was your fault you bumped into me," he said and I rolled my eyes
"in my defense, you were standing in the doorway so it both our faults," I said and he smirked
"Whatever you think Cordelia," he said and blushed a little I like the way my name rolled of his tongue
"mhm okay well does this mean your gonna stop giving me you know death glares," I asked him and he smirked
"I think about it," he said and I rolled my eyes and went back inside cause I was cold
we spent more time with the black family and they are pretty great people the dad seems sketchy and but caiden little sister is amazing she the same age as rhys and she great she is shy but she really sweet
it was getting late and they headed home and I took another shower and got ready for bed dozing off with the thought of gray eyes on my mind I really wanted to know more about him
