Cassie's POV
I paced into the Great Hall knowing that in just ten minutes my first class as a professor was going to start, however, the rumbling in my stomach was pulling me to the mount of food that was pilled on each table in this hall. I went to the teachers table grabbing what I could, and stuffing it in my face, downing it with water. Besides the fact that I had a bunch of third years, I could not help but feel my nerves getting the best of me. What did I really know about Muggles? I mean sure I was in there world for eight years but still.
I shoved the last bit of bread in my mouth before looking at the front of the table, and seeing my Godfather look at me with a smile on his face. I grabbed my cup, lifting it to him before I took the last drink and set off out of the Great Hall. Each step closer to my classroom and I could feel the muffins and bread began to come up. I just had to go in there and do what I could, say what I could, and teach what I knew. Just don't let anybody walk over me.
I knew this particular day I was going to have the third year Slytherins and Griffyndors, and next Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws. Followed by first years and second years, and let me just tell you the thought was enough to send me over the edge, so many hours and so many kids.
I pushed the door open to my classroom, listening the sounds of laughter and talk silence instantly. I walked forward to my desk that stood in the front of the room. I took off my coat that wrapped around me, setting it on my chair before turning around to the kids that all seemed to be staring at me. Except this time I had to remind myself that I was the teacher and it was normal. Whether they were looking at me because they were scared or because I was going to inform them about the subject, I had to do this and not panic.
Yet that was easier said than done.
"Given that this is the first year that Muggle Studies has been made a mandatory subject, I am going to assume that none of you have actually taken the course, but if I am wrong, feel free to raise your hand," I asked watching as silence took the room again and not one person rose there hand to my question, "Well, then it is safe to say that we have a lot to learn,"
I turned once more bringing out my wand and flicking it the papers that stood on my desk. I flicked my wand towards the students, watching as the papers went to each of them slowly. I looked out to them all, knowing that no one was missing from the class since each seat seemed to be filled, but with that I noticed Ron, Harry, and Hermione all near the front of the class. I had hoped that they would be older and I would not have to see them as much, but of course, it was to much to ask of the universe. However, my eyes landed on a boy that sat in the back that had very bleach blond hair, he resembled someone I knew but I could not put my finger on it. I could only hope it would come out later, and I was sure it would.
"Now, as you can see on the paper I intend to do things very different. I want to teach you not only how Muggles go on from day to day, but also inform you on there values, traditions, writings, and even there passions. This class will not only be informative and descriptive, but also fun, inviting, and make you want to come to class,"
I could feel a spark of joy light in me as the words processed out of my mouth. I walked to my desk, leaning against it as each of there eyes followed me to it. A smile formed on my lips as I took a deep breath and continued.
"First question; we all should know what Muggles are, but when you think of a Muggle, what is the first word that comes to mind?" I asked watching as they all looked away processing my words.
