"NERVOUS FOR YOUR FIRST DAY?"

Devyn looked over at her younger sister who was attempting to place her overfilled bowl of cereal on the dining table without spilling it. It made Devyn smile as she focused on her own breakfast.

"Nope," Devyn answered, taking a bite of her toast, "Are you?"

Madison shook her head, "I can't wait to make new friends."

"That's the spirit," Devyn tells her sister.

Madison had just turned seven. If it hadn't been for their eleven-year age gap, Devyn would have argued that the two of them could have been twins. Her sister looked like a carbon copy of her, she acted just like her as well, which drove their mother crazy.

The clicking of heels alerted them of their mother's presence before they saw her. Evelyn Wilde stepped into the kitchen, a wide smile on her face, "Morning girls."

"Morning mommy!" Madison greeted eagerly.

"Hey mom," Devyn said, standing from her seat and kissing her mother on the cheek.

"Devyn, sweetheart, I have to get to the office early to introduce myself to a potential client, do you think you can take your sister to school?"

"Of course," Devyn stated, she looked over at Madison who was shoveling several spoonfuls of cereal into her mouth, "You cool with that Maddie?"

"Mhm," Madison agreed, finishing off her cereal.

Evelyn rubbed her youngest daughter on the back, "Have a good day at school."

"I will!" Madison exclaimed, the words coming out slightly muffled due to the contents in her mouth.

"Don't speak with your mouth full!" Devyn tells her sister with a laugh. She then turns to her mother, "I promise I will get the precious cargo to school on time for her first day."

"Thank you," Evelyn says. She heads out of the dining room to grab her bag for work, "I'll see you girls this evening."

"Bye mom," Devyn says before turning back to Madison who was now finishing off the milk in the bowl.

"Done!" Madison exclaimed as she slammed the bowl on the dining table. She jumped out of her chair and ran upstairs to grab her backpack. Devyn shook her head as she grabbed her own plate and her sister's, placing them in the sink.

When Madison reappeared, her book bag was on her bag and her shoes were in hand. She plopped down on the ground, tugging her shoes on. She then looked up at Devyn, silently asking her to help tie her shoes.

"Come on Maddie, you know how to do this," Devyn says as she kneels in front of her sister, taking the laces into her hands, "First we make?"

"Bunny ears!" Maddie exclaims and Devyn nods.
