Chapter 10

Aria's POV

I was awoken by the sweet smell of pancakes. I smiled and got up from my bed. I went in the washroom and did my business. I went towards kitchen where, I heard laughter coming from kitchen. I saw a man sitting in one of the barstools who was chatting with Vi. When she saw me approaching, she smiled my way saying "Good Morning Birthday Girl. Here is your buffet breakfast. Happy Birthday." "Thank you Vi but you didn't have to." I said to her. "Is she always this beautiful in the morning." The man sitting at the barstool said turning around. He had Black eyes, chestnut brown coloured hair and a nice jawline. He was wearing White t-shirt with black ripped jeans. He was looking around our age. Vi chuckled and I averted my eyes when I was literally staring at him. I blushed a little as he was still looking at me. Vi came near me and wrapped her hand around my shoulder and said, "Ari meet Duke my cousin. He recently moved here so he came in the morning to meet me. I wasn't aware of his arrival or I would have told you." I smiled politely towards him. He brought his hand forward for handshake so I gave my hand to him but to my surprise he bought it near his mouth and kissed the back of my hand. "I am Duke Molvon. Pleasure to meet you beautiful." I smiled to him and said "Aria Campbell and pleasure is all mine." He chuckled and said, "Ahh your voice is angelic. Where were you been my whole life beautiful. I haven't met a girl like you. Violet you should have introduced us earlier. Anyways, better late than never." Me and Vi both laughed at him. Vi said, "Don't let his charm affect you Ari. He is a Heartbreaker. He have used these lines in probably millions of other girls." I nodded at her and said, "Don't worry Vi. It isn't easy to own my heart. You need to try little bit harder than these lines Duke" I said with a wink to him. Me and Vi both high-fived each other and laughed. Duke placed his hand on his right side of chest and said, "Ahh you hurt me cousin with your words. And beautiful, I am ready to go to any extent, only for you my lady." He bowed a little in the end and we all started laughing. Vi said, "Idiot heart is on your left side not right." Vi said pointing towards his hand. Upon hearing this I laughed again. I told them both that I would be back in few minutes and then we can have our breakfast. I went in my bedroom and went in the bathroom to take shower. I washed my hair and in 20 minutes I was done. I went towards my closet deciding on what to wear. I decided to wear a blue off shoulder top and paired it with black fitted pants.(Picture above) I decided to wear Royal blue Heels. I applied eyeliner with nude lipstick to my face. I straightened my hair and let it fall down. I took a look at myself, when I was satisfied with it I made my way towards kitchen to have breakfast. "Damn girl you look beautiful in this top. Happy Birthday Bestie." Vi cheered for me as I went towards her amd hugged her. I saw Duke and gave him a smile. He took the bouquet of flowers besides him and said,
"Happy Birthday Aria. Hope you have an amazing year ahead also these are for you. Although you are much prettier than these." I took them from him and said thank you. Once we were settled, we helped ourselves with the food. Vi had made pancakes, waffles, eggs with bacon and toast, strawberries which were chocolate dipped. As we were chatting I asked Duke, "So where do you work, if you don't mind me asking" He smiled at me and was about to answer when his phone ringed, He excused himself from the table to answer it. After a while he came back and said, "Sorry girls I gotta go. Duty calls. I wish to meet you again Aria and Happy Birthday once again. Let's hangout someday all three of us. See you later cousin." He waved at us with a smile and we did the same. After we had our breakfast, I was anxiously waiting for my results because they were gonna announce them today. In about 5 minutes it will be uploaded. Sensing my anxiety Vi came towards me and sat besides me,
" Its okay Aria. Calm down. You are gonna get the best percentage girl. I know you worked your ass off during exams so trust me when I say that you truly did nailed it." I laughed at her a bit and said thanks.
Time was ticking by slowly now. After what seemed like long hours of patience, the website finally opened. I entered my seat number and other details. It was buffering right now and I could feel my heart thumping inside my chest. Finally the screen showed my percentage and to say I was shocked would be an understatement, I scored 98% and was second in my University. Tears brimmed my eyes upon seeing the result which I had expected. As I remembered long sleepless nights of studying and to complete my assignments. I felt joy and happiness throughout my body. I had achived the goal which I had in my mind. Vi was hugging me tightly and yelled Congratulations in the air. We both laughed at that. This was my best birthday till today as I can finally have the career which I dreamed of amd work at my dream work place. Now, I just hope I get selected to work in Parker Industries. I was taken out of my thoughts when my phone ringed. I took it from coffee table to see my father's name on the screen.I smiled and picked up the call,
"Heyy princess. Happy Birthday to you......Happy birthday to you...Happy Birthday dear Aria....Happy Birthday to you."

"Thank you so much daddy. Where is mom and that cute little troublemaker?"

I hear gigles from the other side, probably my mom and Xavy.
"Hello Sweety. Happy Birthday and here is Xavier."

"Phabby birwthday Ari" Xavier said in cute baby voice.

"Thank you so much Mom and Xavy. How are you buddy?"

"I am gwood."

I laughed and said, "Are u troubling mommy and daddy baby??"

"No ari"

"Alright buddy give the phone to daddy and I love you lots okay. When I come there we are gonna go and have lots of chocalates and ice-creams."

"I lowwe you too Ari."

Dad laughs in the phone,
"Princess, how is your birthday going so far? We miss you so much."

I hear sadness in his voice in last part,
"My birthday is going nice so far and I miss you guys too. I'll try to visit you guys as soon as possible."

"Alright enough of your father daughter conversation. Now its my turn."

"Princess I'll talk to you later since your mother is glaring at me. Take care of yourself and also Congratulations on your results and I am proud of you. I love you princess."

I laughed a bit and said,
"Thank you Daddy and Love you too."

"Congratulations Sweety on your results. How is your day so far. Have you found any cute guys there? Come on tell me I am your mother."

"No she would not date anyone until she turns 40."My father said in between our conversation.

I laughed and then rolled my eyes on my father's over protectiveness. I can imagine him frowning there.
"Thank you mommy and my day is going great but I miss you guys a lot. And nope I haven't found any cute guy here."

"We miss you too sweety and that's sad that you haven't found someone but trust me there would be one guy who would make you fall for him head over heels."

I rolled my eyes and thought 'As if it is going to happen'

"Alright sweety I gotta go. Take care of yourself and enjoy your day. I love you sweety."

"Alright mommy you guys also take care of yourselves and love you too. Talk later Byee."

"Bye Sweety."

I ended the call and felt a bit sad that I couldn't celebrate my birthday with them. The rest of the day me and Vi had movie marathon since I had a day off today. At 6pm Sam also joined us. We had ordered a take out since we were lazy to go to the restaurant. We ordered Noodles, Mexican Buritto bowl and Italian sizzler for us. We had left over cake from yesterday so we didn't ordered any desserts. After we were done with dinner we chatted up a bit and then said our goodbyes. I went inside my bedroom and changed into my PJ's. I have an interview tomorrow so I setted my alarm for 6am and then went to bed. Instantly, sleep took over me.
