Atlas's POV

as soon as jack left the room I once again fell on the bed after about 3 minutes I got up and walked towards the shower I took a hot bath and dressed up I walked downstairs and had my breakfast alone and then marched towards the practice arena

I walked into the practice arena and my gaze wandered around in search of a familiar figure I was looking for Adeline but.... she wasn't here

I saw jack and I walked towards him

"hey where's Adeline?" I asked while looking around but still didn't find her

"she's feeling unwell" he replied while sharpening his sword I felt something weird she was looking pale last night
"why? what happened?" I ask and the worry was visible in my eyes I felt something weird something that wasn't quite normal something that I wasn't supposed to be feeling...

"I don't know she might be tired she was sleeping peacefully don't worry" he said and I felt somehow relieved knowing that he probably checked on her
"why would I be worried?" I chuckled nervously
"it's written all over your face" he said and walked away I patted my face and followed him

"today I'll teach how to read your opponents mind and how to trick them" he said as I sat stood near him while holding my sword
he pointed the tip of his sword towards me my breath hitched

"pay attention" he said and stood right in front of me
"yes" I exclaimed and he smirked at me or maybe chuckled I don't know

"first of all you have to understand the way your opponent move their sword and fight
it's really important to learn the way your opponent moves focus on their arms,legs and shoulders when you're fighting with a sword" he said while pointing towards his arms legs and shoulders I don't know a shit about fighting with a sword but still I have to fight in this era to at least survive

he continued
"and if your sword unfortunately fell on the ground don't waste a second and pick it up but if you can't try to protect your jaw and upper body....." he said and the lecture continued for a long time I learned a lot of things and then we started doing practice with the sword I tried to move my sword the way he taught me to and it was working well

the sun is about to set and I'm tired as hell
the Idea of practicing more make me shiver I just want to eat something good take a shower and then sleep
"you did quite well today" jack said as we were resting under a tree I looked at him and he didn't look tired at all in fact it looked like he had fun while practicing
"seems like you like practicing?" I finally asked while leaning against the tree he looked at me and smiled a little he looked up
"even if I like it or not I have to do it it's what I'm doing since I was 4" he replied and I looked at him I felt sad knowing that he also don't want to do this but have to this

"what do you like to do?" I asked while looking up at the branches of the tree it looks great I don't know I'm starting to admire little things

"what do you mean?" he said while looking at me curiously
"what do you like to do it's a simple question" I said while looking at him he looked at me and thought for some time

"I don't know" he said while looking at me even though he looks all grumpy and boss bitch type he's cute when he's relaxed

"what about you?" he asked and I looked in front of me the sun was setting and the sky was a mixture if orange,yellow and blue color
I thought for sometime
"I like a lot if things..." I finally spoke he was also looking at the sunset
"like?..." he said still not looking away from the beautiful scene in front if us

"like painting,cooking and writing novels" I replied while remembering those days when I used to sit on my couch and write novels
I used to cook good meals for myself and paint I'm not good with words I used to explain my feelings with my sketches and paintings

"sounds great" he said and finally looked at me I was still looking at the sunset I thought that he might mock me due to my interest in cooking but he didn't and I'm happy for that

"let's go" he said he got up from his place and dusted his clothes and started to walk I also got up from my place and walked behind him we reached the castle

I walked through the empty hallways while thinking about Adeline I hadn't seen her there was a huge ass battle going inside my brain at whether I should go to her room or not I finally reached my room and took a bath wear nice clothes even though it was already night I walked out of my room

"where's the Queen's room?" I asked one of the old lady who was standing in front of a room and I was sure that it's her room but still I asked the old lady

"it's this one" the old lady replied while pointing towards the door I looked at her and smiled nervously she stared at me blankly

"can I go inside?" I asked while still smiling
"no, his majesty told me to not let anyone come inside" the old lady replied and my smile dropped

I thought of some sort of excuse to go inside suddenly my last two brain cells finally did their work
"tell her that the king of kingdom Valentino wants to meet her" I said confidently but still I was nervous because I'm not sure if that's the name of the kingdom or not
