Adeline's pov
"hey, granny I'm telling you it was Jack's idea and he's blaming me now" I said while my granny was scolding me for going into the woods although I had fun and me and jack were equally involved in the plan but still..
"grandma, it was her idea and I just accompanied her to ensure her safety. "jack said and I was feeling betrayed because it was actually OUR idea and not only mine I looked at him and he started to laugh silently
I showed him my hand and he knew that I was going to punch him but he still keep laughing

"crown princess Adeline and little jack you both aren't going to go anywhere without the guards or else I'll make both of you eat cockroaches you guys understood" she said while looking at us
"yes,queen" we both replied in unison while looking down

"you little brat wait I'll catch you" I said while running toward jack

"hehehe you can't" he said while running

"you little" I said while increasing my speed suddenly I slipped and fell down and jack came towards me the worry in his Grey orbs was visible
"hey Adeline, are you okay?" he said while looking worried
"does it looks like I'm?" I said while staring at him blankly

he suddenly started to panic
"I-I'm s-sorry I s-shouldn't have-"
suddenly I punched him harshly on his arm and started to run
he was groaning due to the pain
"hey are you okay?" he said while holding the area of his arm where I punched him
"hehehe catch me if you can" I said while running

although he's 3 years older than me everyone calls him little jack he's the son of my uncle who left the castle his wife died due to some disease and he came to grandma and requested more like begged her to keep him I don't know the reason though he came here when I was like 3 years old we both play together and we're also partner in crime he's my best and only friend

"jack!!! jack!!!JACK!!!!!!" I was searching for him in the castle one of the maid told me that he was in the practice arena usually we go there together but today I was taking a bath at the time and he left without me

"hey kid" I heard a whisper-scream from a corner of the hallway
I looked around I didn't see anyone there I started to move forward
"hey!!!" I looked towards the corner of the dark hallway which connected the castle to practice arena
"come here" there was a man standing in the corner of the hallway the hallway was dark and the light from chandelier wasn't enough to brighten his face
although by his clothes he doesn't look like a good person? I don't know
I didn't move forward I was standing in the same place he looked around and started to move in my direction

his face was now visible his hair were long touching his shoulders and they looked dirty and messy his face was covered with soil sweat covering his whole body and his shirt was covered in mud and dirt his trouser was Also covered with dirt he came close to me and he smell disgusting and my sixth sense is telling me that he's dangerous but my feet refuse to even move an inch he came near me and I looked at him suddenly he covered my mouth
I was screaming I felt hopeless but when he was about to drag me into a dark room I heard someone's footsteps I used all my power to bite his hand which was covering my mouth I bitted his hand and the taste of copper filled my mouth I thought it was his blood but then I realized that I broke my tooth but still the bite was enough strong to make him move his hand from my mouth I took advantage and started screaming
"HELP!!!HELP!!!!!!!" I heard the footsteps and they were now faster and closer to me

"Adeline! ADELINE!!!!! WHERE ARE YOU??" 
it was jack I realized that if I replied then he'll be in danger as well but that disgusting man shouted
"HERE" jack came running and saw me mouth covered with my own blood
although he's also a kid but I felt safe in his presence
I saw his Grey orbs turn into black and suddenly he took out a little stabber from his pocket he tried to stab the man but that man dodged it and the stabber fell away from Jack's hand he tried to run toward it but that man caught his leg and when I saw that he was focusing on jack I grabbed the stabber and stabbed his leg he groaned due to the pain he turned to look at me but I once again stabbed his arm he cried and kicked me with his other leg in the meantime jack grabbed his stabbed leg and pressed it  he was groaning in pain me and jack got up and ran towards the exit of the hallway
we saw one of the guard near the exit we shouted for help he ran towards us and we told him to go and catch that man he was trying to run but the stab in his leg didn't help him

"kill him in front of everyone" the queen said that disgusting man started to beg for his life in front of her
"no I apologize I-I'm sorry p-please don't kill me" he said while rubbing his hands together
"you tried to rape the crown princess because you were drunk hah!"
she said while standing up from her throne the throne was beautifully covered in red diamonds and gold the throne was meant for the king or queen to sit on the throne was located in the middle of the meeting room and a huge chandelier provided  enough light to brighten up the interior of the meeting room.

"moreover you are not telling me how did you get inside the castle" she said while walking close to him I was sitting near the throne on a small chair while jack was in his room
"I-I can't" the man replied
"then get ready for a painful death" she said and asked one of the guards to bring her the equipments
"take princess to her room" the queen said
