Darkness my friend

Many of my friends laugh,

When I say the darkness is our friend,

Or the light burns.

But what people don't get is that its the truth.

And when I say one or the other but not both at the same time. It is implied that its there.

In the night I can see God's face.

Because there is no light but his.

I can focus on him and follow him endlessly.

Darkness is my friend because I can be with God and only him.

There are no stray thoughts or mindless chatter on the air.

Just me, my thoughts, and my God.

He silences the destructive habits.

In my mind God doesn't shine with a radiantly white light that encompasses all.

No, he is the whisper in the dark. That you can only hear at night with no one around.

I wanted to thank Darkness for being the unwavering unfleeting place where I can find peace from the hectic day.

In the daytime people get mad.

There are always people talking,

Cars honking,

And a desperate scramble to get from one place to the other.

It burns to see the

lust, greed, wrath, gluttony, envy, and pride run rampant today.

The seven deadly sins are everywhere we turn.

And it hurts me to see them so prevalent everwhere we go.

So why is night any better you ask?

Because isn't there prostitution?

Gambling?

Gang violence?

And in my opinion its because if you walk around the city or town or neighborhood at three a.m. you don't see anyone out having a good time any more.

The ones out are those who have something to confess.

They are the ones with heavy hearts.

Sure there are those who do bad at night, but all those... Prostitution, gambling, and gang violence happens in the day too. On top of the deadly sins...

So why is night my friend?

Because it is more.

More pure.

More raw.

More beautiful.

More comforting to the soul feeling lonely.

A/N: okay guys its time for me to finally hit the hay as it is now 1:30 a.m. and I have school today. Lol stay hopeful. Every storm runs out of rain.
