Mr. Graysons p.o.v
Salty droplets of the summer rain flow down my face, dripping to the concrete as I stand on the porch, in front of the wooden door. I knock at the front door of the apartment softly. Also, Im currently holding an empty mug in my hands. I plaster my most endearing smile on my face and await a response.

"One second!", I hear from the other side of the door

In a moment, the door swings open and I'm greeted by a new face. A beautiful face. That of a short, slender woman. Her skin is tan to perfection and the blonde wig that shes wearing suits her rich complexion well.

"Hi", she breathes

"Afternoon...I'm so sorry to interrupt"

"Oh, no. I was just, trying to make myself dinner", she says, using gestures excessively. "My ex-fiancé used to do the cooking and well, lets just say thats not exactly his problem anymore because he would much rather cook for a bimbo yoga instructor named Chantel"

I smile uncomfortably. Im not really uncomfortable. In fact, I already knew all of that. I only smile uncomfortably because that would be the somewhat normal human reaction to her blabbering.

"I'm so sorry, you probably dont even care and here I am saying all of this", she rambles

"No, dont worry about it. I know exactly how you feel. In fact, my ex left me too...just about three months ago"

She sighs in relief. Almost as if she feels understood for the first time in a while. "There must be something in the weather, huh? My breakup was only two months ago"

"What are the odds?"

Zero. The odds are zero. Im actively lying to her and making all of this up as I go.

"Be honest with me...does it get any better?"

"Thankfully, yes. It does"

"Well hallelujah to that then", she smiles

A pause.

"Oh shoot, you should probably come in before you ruin your shirt", she tells me quickly and gestures for me to enter her home. I walk past her and stand still, analysing the place while she closes the door behind her.

"Ugh, I hate rain", she comments. Shes chatty. I knew that too

"I quite like it", I say

Another pause.

"So... what was it that you came by for?"

"Oh, I just wanted to bring my new neighbour a small gift to say...welcome to the neighborhood", I say as I hand her the mug

"Aw. This is so nice", she smiles. "Do forgive me if I'm being too forward but, would you by any chance like to stay for dinner with me? I mean, if you don't already have other plans of course" I knew that she would ask me to stay

"Are you sure I wouldnt be imposing?"

"What? No... of course not", she says quickly in response. "I would die for some company right now"

"...alright then...if you insist"

She grins. "Great. Oh, where are my manners... my name is Desiree, by the way"

"Oh, nice to meet you Desiree", I stretch my hand out. "please, call me Mr. Grayson"
