By the time I arrive at the frat house at nine thirty, everyone is already drunk and I immediately regret coming here. The air is thick with sweat and the sharp, sour smell of beer violates both of my nostrils. Couples are dry humping in almost every corner I look, the floor is sticky with spilled drinks and as I turn, I notice a blonde girl barely laying on the coffee table, smoking and giggling while a group of boys undress her one article of clothing at a time.

"Boo!", Daisy tries, sneaking up from behind me and then pulling me into a tight hug. "You look half good"

I look only half good to Daisy because I decided to put on some tights beneath the dress that I was wearing. She on the other hand was dressed just like an angel in a shimmery, silver spaghetti-strapped mini dress with fishnets and some white sneakers. She even put on her septum ring for the night.

"...and you look fully like a slut", I say back to her, making her laugh.

"Thank you. Thats what I was going for actually", she says sarcastically.

We both laugh.

"Do all shindigs look like this?", I wrinkle my nose.

"Okay, first of all, don't say words like shindig. Literally, no one says that", she says, "and second of all, stop wrinkling your nose. It's too weird"

"Well I'm not used to this setting Daisy", I defend, "should I remind you that you practically forced me to come here tonight?"

"Just, c'mon, Ashers waiting for me", she says above the music. She fluffs her hair and pulled me into the kitchen where she poured herself a drink and gave me a cup.

"There's some soda in the fridge", she tells me, knowing very well that there's no way I'd be drinking tonight.

I start to pour myself some soda when I see Daisy wriggling onto the dance floor in the living room, leaving me to stand alone in the corner of the kitchen hold-ing a red solo cup half filled with Cola. Remind me again why I agreed to this? Half an hour later, with Burna Boy and Drake pouring from the stereo so loud that I could feel it in my throat, I decide to worm my way to the backyard of the house where a crowd of boys were chugging beers and discussing which girls, they would each be sleeping with tonight. The only thing more disgusting than listening to these morons choke on their own testosterone is the fact that at least half of them will actually concur these girls.

I look to my side and spot a now sloppily drunk Daisy heading into a black car with one of her boyfriends, Asher I think, on her arm, wobbling slightly. Why am I not surprised that she's leaving? She's my ride. I stop myself from worrying and try to run after her. By the time I even get near the car its already sped off. Great, now Im stranded at a party. I didnt even want to attend in the first place. I pull out my phone and call her.

"Hello?", I say when she picks up the phone

"Oh, hey Nai", she giggles

"Daisy, you're my only ride and I just saw you leave the party. What am I supposed to do? Where the heck are you going?"

"Don't worry. I'll be back in like 30 minutes, we just went to get more chips for the orange cat", she hiccups

I huff frustrated. Please just hurry up Daisy

By the time I cut the call, Im standing firmly by the front of the house, wait-ing for Daisy to reappear. But she doesnt. Not by ten thirty, not by eleven and not even by midnight. With each hour that passes by and each can of beer that gets chugged, things start to get a lot louder and a lot looser. Finally, at past midnight, my phone dies after calling Daisy for the twentieth time and I decide to just take the long one hour walk back to campus. This is why I dont go to parties.
