"Goodbye for now, Trixie. I know in my heart that we'll meet again someday. Until then i'll be waiting, so please remember me. Я тебя люблю навсегда, моя принцесса." She whispered.

After leaving the hospital, Katya could only let fate decide if Trixie would remember her or not. She'd never stop loving Trixie, that was for sure.
Due to Kim and Bob's requests and endless nagging, she temporarily took over as the diner's manager. Katya wasn't happy about it, but her friends agreed that she was the closest thing to Trixie they'd be able to find. Closing the diner was definitely not an option, so Katya did her best to stay true to Trixie's vision.

Trixie on the other hand, was supposedly back to her normal life. She had her amazing best friends Alyssa and Dela, as well as a job at the local drugstore in the makeup department. She even started dating a genuinely nice guy.
However, she was constantly plagued by a strange feeling that something was missing from her life.
Most of the time she ignored it, dismissing it as a side affect of her accident or the amnesia.
But occasionally, random things and objects would make her feel these bizarre emotions that couldn't be explained. Like one time when she saw a specific shade of red lipstick, she was simply drawn to it. Trixie ended up buying it, despite never wearing red lipstick herself and she didn't know why. Another time, she passed by some Russian tourists and started tearing up out of nowhere.
Whenever Trixie asked her friends or parents about it, they'd always laugh it off and change the subject.
She felt like she was only being paranoid. The people who loved her most would never lie to her, right? She had no real reason not to trust them after all, they've been nothing but nice to her since her return from the hospital.
So Trixie did her best to ignore the strange feeling of constant emptiness, keeping up with her cheerful appearance.

~3 years later~

"I don't know Mason... driving all the way to Boston for a festival? Sounds a bit unnecessary to me." Trixie argued.
"Come on babe it'll be fun, I really think it'll be nice for us. We never go out anymore..." He said, wrapping his arms around Trixie's waist.
"Fine, but if it sucks then i'm blaming you." She said, smiling at him.

Mason and Trixie had been official for almost three years now. Everyone thought they'd get married sooner or later. Trixie however, didn't know what to think.
She was sure that Mason was treating her right, he was never disrespectful or pushy and he always cared for her wellbeing. Hell, most guys would probably leave after discovering that sex wasn't an option until marriage.
In short, Mason wasn't the problem. Trixie herself was the problem.
She didn't know why, but the thought of sleeping with him felt wrong to her.
It was ridiculous of course, no one should feel bad about being intimate with their partner. But Trixie felt like she simply couldn't do it. So much that she told him she was saving herself for marriage. Which was a lie of course, Trixie didn't care about that at all. In fact she was longing for someone to fill her sexual desires. Why not her boyfriend? To Trixie the answer to that was a mystery.

After less than an hour they were ready to start the drive to Boston, though Trixie was a little nervous. Boston was where she got injured after all. If it wasn't for that stupid car crash, Trixie wouldn't have to deal with the constant emptiness that keeps building up inside her. She expected to feel normal after a while but three years had passed and the feeling only got worse. Perhaps visiting Boston would give Trixie the closure she needed? Only time will tell.

Trixie sighed as she looked out the car's window, waiting for her boyfriend to start the engine.
They didn't talk during the ride. There wasn't much for them to talk about. It had been that way for a while now, comfortable or uncomfortable silences filled the air around them whenever they were alone. They didn't even bother to make small talk anymore.
It was always so boring. Neither wanted to admit it, but their relationship had become a routine.
There was no love there, just two people who liked eachother enough to stay and do what was expected of them.
Mason came from a very religious family, much like Trixie. He'd lived in the same town his whole life, watching people live their lives like a formula; school, marriage, children, growing old, death.
It was the only way he knew, so he suppressed his curious nature and his longing for an adventure. His dreams of being a scientist forgotten since childhood.
But who needed science when he had such a gorgeous woman as his girlfriend, right? Having A girl like Trixie made his parents proud and his friends jealous, so what more could he ask for?

"Where are we?" Trixie yawned, realizing she fell asleep.
"We're almost at the motel." Mason said, checking his phone that was open on google maps.
"Oh wow, I really slept hard, huh?" Trixie chuckled. The drive to Boston was over 16 hours, so they'd decided to stop at a motel instead of sleeping in the car.
"Guess you were tired." Mason shrugged at he turned left towards the motel.

The motel itself wasn't much to look at. It was nothing special, the neon pink letters that spelled "MOTEL" being the least Boring thing about it.
There was a pool though, so Trixie made a mental note to go for a late night swim.
"Not too bad" Mason smiled as he parked the car close to the entrance, looking at the modern design of the Motel.
"As long as there aren't any rats in our bathroom, it's already an improvement from last time." Trixie half joked, recalling the time they stayed at a local Hotel for their first anniversary and left the same day because Trixie found a dead rat in the toilet.
Mason laughed, turning off the engine.
"That's true." He said.

The couple entered the Motel with their bags, ready to check in.
As they walked in, Trixie sighed in relief at the cleanliness of the lobby. Staying in a dirty, disgusting room didn't sound very appealing to her, so she was glad to see the lobby in good shape.
There was a tired looking man behind the front desk, reading a magazine.
"Excuse me? We're here to check in." Trixie spoke, making the man finally notice their presence.
He looked up, putting the magazine aside as he moved to type on the computer.
"Name?" He asked.
"Reservation under Mattel." Mason said.
There was an uncomfortable silence in the room while the man was typing god knows what into his computer.
After a while he stopped, getting up to fetch two identical keys.
"Here you go, room 178. Try not to break the bed." The man said, smirking at Mason.
Mason only laughed uncomfortably as he took the keys, knowing exactly what the man as implying.
Trixie rolled her eyes at his inappropriate comment. Although she's grown used to people assuming things about her and Mason's sex life, it was still annoying when it happened right in front of her.

They settled into their small but surprisingly nice room, not even bothering to unpack since they'd only be staying one night.
"Hey i'm gonna go check out the pool, wanna come?" Trixie asked, rummaging through her bag in attempt to find her bikini.
"I just drove for like eight hours Trix, the only swimming I wanna do is in dreamland." He mumbled, already close to passing out on the bed.
Trixie chuckled, wishing the tired man good night before changing in the bathroom.

She covered herself in a robe before leaving the room, not even bothering to get fully dressed over her swim suit. It was dark anyway, she figured the pool would be empty since it's so late.
Once Trixie got to the pool, she took off her robe and slippers, placing them on the of the beach chairs.
Trixie was happy to find out that the water was warm. She let herself dive in, her bleach blonde hair instantly turning darker under the water.
Everything was so peaceful under water. She could forget about everything and focus entirely on the warm wetness surrounding her. Trixie closed her eyes as she floated on her back, feeling the water with her fingers.
She could stay like that forever. Just her and the water.
Trixie was starting to regret not being born as a dolphin or something. Oh what she'd give to be so carefree, swimming in the ocean her whole life without any responsibilities or having to live up to stupid human expectations.

Trixie started to hum. The same tune that was stuck in her head ever since she woke up in the hospital.
Funny thing was, when she tried identifying the song, no one knew what it was. She couldn't even find it on YouTube.
Trixie didn't know the words, yet the melody was stuck in her head for three years.

That's why she was so shocked when she heard a voice join in on the humming, mumbling the words in a language that Trixie didn't understand.
