They'll treasure every single happy moment they have from now on.

"Where are you taking me?" Trixie giggled, letting Katya guide her blindfolded self to wherever it is they're going.
It had been two months since Trixie returned. Everybody was overjoyed to have her back, and the diner was thriving under her management once again.
"You'll see in a bit, принцесса." Katya said as they kept walking down a path that the Russian knew all too well.
Trixie rolled her eyes under the blindfolded. She was dying to know what her girlfriend was up to.
Of course she loved it when Katya surprised her, but she couldn't help but get too eager for her own good.

"Can I take this thing off now?" Trixie asked as they came to a halt.
"Patience baby, patience." Katya cooed.
Katya looked around to make sure everything was as planned.
With a satisfied smile, she gently untied Trixie's blindfold.

The blonde gasped at the sight.

They were at the oh-so-familiar clearing in which they turned ther friendship into something more. Their first real date.
Trixie remembered the place as magical, but her memory didn't do it justice. This time the sun was still out, letting Trixie see the nature around her in all it's glory. They were just in time for the golden hour.

"Baby, it's even prettier than I remembered." Trixie beamed, hugging Katya tightly.
As they pulled away, Trixie took her time to really look at Katya. Her skin and hair looked golden, contrasting perfectly with her dark eyeshadow and red lips. She looked like an actual godess, absolutely beautiful.
"What?" Katya asked, amused by how Trixie was just staring at her.
"Nothing, you're just absurdly gorgeous." Was Trixie's response.
"I could say the same thing about you." The Russian chuckled.
"Or you could kiss me." The blonde shrugged.
"Hmm. Sounds good to me." Katya grinned before leaning in to give Trixie a short yet passionate kiss.
"God, I love your lips." Katya whispered as they pulled away.
"They're all yours" Trixie said, giving Katya another quick kiss on the lips.
"Then i'm the luckiest woman in the world." Katya smiled.
She genuinely felt like she was in fact the luckiest whenever she was with Trixie. Katya couldn't have wished for a more perfect partner. Every time she'd look into the deep pools of honey in Trixie's eyes she knew, no words could describe the love she has for the woman.

"We've come a long way since the last time we were here, huh?" Trixie mused, taking Katya's hand as they took a seat in front of the lake.
She played with Katya's fingers delicately, as if they'd break easily.
Katya hummed in response.
"While you were with your parents I used to come here alone. It reminded me of you." Katya said.
"I'm sorry you had to feel so lonely." Trixie purred, bringing Katya's hand to her lips and placing a soft kiss on her knuckles.
Katya shrugged.
"It's probably nothing compared to what you've been through. I can't even begin to imagine what it was like for you. The confusion, the lies... i'm just glad it's over." She said.
"Me too, thanks to you. If we hadn't met that night at the pool i'd probably still be wasting my time with that homophobic prick right now." Trixie cringed at the idea of still being with Mason.
"I'd like to think that our meeting there was more than just luck though." Katya said.

"What do you mean?"

Katya turned her head from the lake to look into Trixie's eyes.

"Trixie, do you believe in fate? Destiny?"

Trixie thought for a moment.

"I'm not sure. But I do believe that everything happens for a reason."

"Exactly. I find it hard to believe that us meeting after three years at a motel in the middle of nowhere is merely a convenient coincidence."

"Well when you put it that way... I guess you're right Kat. All I know is that I'm grateful you showed up when you did." Trixie said.

Katya then got up. She tapped her phone, the song "as the world falls down" started playing.
"Dance with me?" Katya asked, offering Trixie her hand.
Laughing at Katya's clichè romantic gesture, Trixie obliged.

As the pain sweeps through
Makes no sense for you
Every thrill is gone
Wasn't too much fun at all
But I'll be there for you-ou-ou
As the world falls down

Falling
Falling down
Falling in love

The two danced until the end of the song, the lyrics hitting them both harder than they thought they would.
"I never realised how sad the song actually is. I saw the movie as a little girl so I never paid much attention to the meaning behind it." Trixie admitted as they stopped dancing, still holding onto eachother.
Katya nodded. She'd chosen the song especially, since it was both romantic and painful.

"Trixie, when we met I was at my lowest. I'd given up hope completely. But then you came out of nowhere and offered your help to a piece of dirt like me. My very own angel. At the time, I actually thought I dreamt you up. You helped me find myself again, you helped me live again. It's a debt that I can only hope to be able to repay someday. When you were taken away from me, from your life... those were probably the toughest three years of my life. Our time apart made me realise I don't ever want to be without you. So, I hope you'll let me love you as much as I do in my heart. You deserve all the love in the world, Trixie. So if you'll have me,"

Katya got down on one knee.

"I'd be honoured to give you my name as well as my heart."

She took out a ring. Rose gold, cushion diamond. Humble yet unique and beautiful, much like Trixie.

"Trixie, will you marry me?"
Katya asked, only to get knocked over by Trixie's air-sucking embrace.
"Is that a yes?" Katya choked out from underneath Trixie, thank god the grass was there to make it painless.
"Oh right, sorry! Yes, yes of course i'll marry you." Trixie laughed, wiping the tears away from her eyes.
She got off of Katya and joined her on the grass. Katya slid the ring onto Trixie's finger, tearing up as well.
"It's beautiful." Trixie breathed out, finally getting a closer look at the ring.
"Not as beautiful as my fiancé though." she said, pulling Katya in for a kiss. This one was slower, longer and tasted like happy tears.
"How did I get so lucky?" Trixie whispered once they pulled away, resting their foreheads against eachother's.
"You deserve the world, моя любовь" Katya answered.
Trixie shook her head.
"I don't know what I deserve, but as long as I have you, I don't need anything else. You're my world. Katya, I love you more than I can express."
Trixie said.
"That's kinda gay." Katya joked through her tears, her voice slightly breaking.
"Shut up you weirdo i'm trying to be sincere!" Trixie said, chuckling at Katya's inability to stay serious.

"Yes but i'm your weirdo now."

"Damn right you are."
