He Makes You Feel Insecure, (Liam, Part 2/2):

Tap, tap, tap. You lay still. Tap, tap, tap.

You sit up gradually, until you're back is propped up against the cream tilled wall. As soon as you got into the bathroom you deleted everything, then fell asleep, head against the cabinets. "(Y/N), are you okay? Please let me in." Liam taps his knuckles against the wood panel of the door, ever so slightly. "I didn't mean any of it, I know you're mad."

You're covering your mouth with the sleeve of your hoodie, you want to talk to Liam, you want to hug him close and let him trace little circles on the palm of your hands. You could easily go up to the door, turn the lock and have him in your arms. But no. You feel like you're frozen.

"Liam." You say in a hushed tone. Your delicate puffy cheeks getting soaked with tears. "This isn't fair." You say. Loud enough for him to hear. You want an answer. You over reacted, but he still made you feel insecure.

"What isn't fair?" His soft voice talking to you through the door.

"Why I feel like this, you got picked on at school, but you're perfect, you get along perfectly with everyone, you're not socially awkward. You're not an idiot."

"and neither are you, (Y/N) come on, let me in." You get up on your knees, then stable yourself up onto your feet and unlock the bathroom door. As soon as Liam sees your face he wraps his arms around, sure you're bones are being crushed. But you don't care.

"I'll help you, you'll get over this, it's just a working progress. I'm sorry. I know how sensitive you are when it comes to things like this, and I promise, cross my heart, I will never, ever say anything like that again." You slowly nod your head, silently agreeing with what Liam is saying. All you do is stand there for the next ten minutes cradling each other, gently rocking back and forth.

A few months later and you're still not totally comfortable in big group situations but you've been out with the boys three times and didn't feel uncomfortable. Step by step you get over it, Liam was right. It is a working progress.
