After that every second I spent, I felt guilty for talking to Pete like that. I always
remembered how we met for the first time
*flash back*
“Kai, come here and solve this math problem” I got startled when teacher called me.
I just stayed there silently.
“Can’t you hear me? Come here and solve the problem” she raised her voice even
more.
“Bu-but I don’t know how to solve it” I stuttered.
“He’s so dumb”
“It just a basic sum problem” I heard my classmates whisper.
“Where were you while I was teaching? Daydreaming? Pete, you come here and
solve this”
The said student came and solve the problem perfectly.
“Very good. Hey you, did you understand now?” teacher turned to me again.
“Ye-yes teacher” I felt sad because all students laughed at me.
After teacher left I felt someone approached me. “Hi I’m Pete. What’s your name?”
I looked up to see the boy who solved the math problem, looking at me kindly.
“Oh hey, I’m Kai.”
“Can’t solve this problem? Is it hard?” he asked pointing at my math book.
“Ah, yeah. Kind of.” I answered while scratching my hair.
“Come, I’ll teach you how to solve it” he smiled at me.
*end of the flashback*
After that, we became best friends. I can’t let my best friend hate me. I determined
to apologize to him. So I walked towards his room. And Nom was there too.
“Hey Pete listen, I’m sorry for everything I said. I shouldn’t have done that.”
Nom and Pete looked at me. “Oh Kai, where were you? Didn’t see you for the whole
day?”
“What do you mean? Hey, are you still mad at me? Pete I’m really sorry. I didn’t
mean anything I said.”
“Why would I be mad at you? Did you have a nightmare at this day time or
something?”
I looked at them weirdly. “What? No. I came here to apologize for what happened
at the cafeteria.”
“What happened at the cafeteria?” they both asked at the same time.
“This is insane. You both are messing with me” I left the room because I felt so
frustrated. Why they act like nothing happened? Also this isn’t the first time such
thing happened. They didn’t remember me pushing Pete as well. What was wrong
with them? I needed to talk to someone. But Pete and Nom are the only friends I
have. What should I do now? Suddenly, I remembered Mr. Ray. That’s right. I
should talk to him about this.
I went to Mr. Ray’s office room and knocked on the door. I heard him saying ‘come
in’. So I entered the room causing him to look up from the book he was reading.
“Hey Kai, come here and sit.”
“Mr. Ray there’s something wrong with this school.” I told him breathing heavily.
“Okay Kai. You need to calm down first. Tell me everything happened.”
I told him the whole story. I told him both incidents. The one I pushed Pete and the
fight that happened today’s morning. He was carefully listening to everything. After
I’m done with the story all he said was,
“Kai everything’s going to be fine. You don’t have to worry about these things.”
“No, don’t you understand Mr. Ray? Our school’s students are losing their
memories. There’s something wrong with all these.”
Actually there’s something wrong with this super 7 project too. Not just one thing
but many things. Mr. Ray didn’t take any of my stories seriously. He smiled in his
usual way.
“As I said Kai, all you should worry now is about the question I gave you. Did you
get any answer yet?” he asked instead.
“Um no, I don’t think so” I mumbled.
“Think Kai, think. You’ll get your answer.”

I left Mr. Ray’s office with a more confused mind than I already was. At the hallway
I saw a student and I recognized him instantly because I’ve seen him couple of time
at the super 7 class. But what took my mind was he looked so tense. I wasn’t sure
what was up with him. I waved at him but he ignored me and left. This whole
program is so weird including its students. I determined to quit this program as soon as possible.
“Okay class, that’s it for today.” Mr. Ray started wrapping up today’s lesson.
I should talk to him before he leaves. I thought to myself.
“Also don’t forget the question I asked you. For those who know the answer-”
I raised my hand.
“Oh Kai, you figured it out?”
“Not really, I understand that this super 7 program is a really important one. Also,
the students here get more facilities than others. But I don’t think I’m qualified for
any of these. I’m not comfortable with the fact that I’m getting these extra facilities
while my friends don’t, who I believe that deserve these things more than me. For
example, my friend is so good at studying than me. Still I got into this, he didn’t. I
think-” “You’re so dumb. Your talent in academic things got nothing to do with this. You don’t understand why you’re here? Okay let me show you then, why you all are
here.”
A student interrupted me. I looked up at him and he was the student I saw yesterday
at the hallway. His face had a scary frown like he was mad at everyone.
He walked towards Mr. Ray who was carefully looking at him while standing in
front of the class.
“We’re chosen because we’re becoming extraordinary.”
The whole class looked at him like he’s gone crazy.
"What are you even talking about?" they questioned.
“It’ll be easier to show you guys than tell” he said and walked towards the main
wiring system of the room. As soon as he touched the main wire, the lights in the
room started to constantly turn on and off
He didn’t have any kind of an electrical device in his hand. Nor did he touched the
switch. He merely touched the wire. The whole class was astonished. All the students
were looking at him with their mouth wide opened.
“Ho-how did you do that?” one student was able to stuttered out after a while.
“That’s because I’m extraordinary. I’ve a potential. We all do as I assume. But I
think we’ve different potentials. As you all saw I can control electricity just using
my hands” he spoke with a very confident tone like a professor giving a lecture.
Finally Mr. Ray opened his mouth. “I’m glad at least one of you was able to figure
it out. You’ve done great Andrew. Go to your seat now” then he explained further.
“I’m sure you all must be wondering how we selected you guys. I believe you all
remember the question that you got for the test. With a power we were able to lose
students vision for a while and change the questions in the paper. And only the
students with potentials can see the new question. All the other normal students
would see the unchanged paper which was consisted of academic questions. For the
students with potentials despite whatever their answer was, we selected them as they
were the only ones who could see the new question.”
Win, the boy next to me suddenly raised his hand. “Mr. Ray, so you mean there are
two types, those who have potentials and those who don’t?”
“Good question Win. But actually no. I explained it that way for you guys to
understand it well. All the humans have a potential in them. But everyone can’t use
them. But we, we’re the golden ones. We can make our potentials awake, develop
them and use them. In other hand them, they can’t use their potentials unless we
order them to do so. But you guys can’t do that much, at least not yet.”
“Why can’t us?” another student questioned.
“If you want to do that, you’ve to develop your potentials. Your potentials just
started awakening. You’ve to keep developing it. After you become powerful
enough, you’ll be able to do that and many more things.”
