Chapter 9 ~ California

Wally's POV

*BEEP BEEP*

I slowly open my eyes and hit the alarm clock, I rolled out of bed and threw on some blue jeans and a yellow t-shirt. I brushed my teeth and combed my hair, put on all the necessities and walked to the door. I wrote a letter to tell Linda I was leaving and put it on the counter. I grabbed my bag and walked through the door. You could tell now Gotham was getting warmer, winter is always bad here. I'm glad we are going to California so I can feel some warmth for once in awhile. I made my way inside the cafe and saw Arty and a raven haired girl. She turned to look at me and smiled, her smile could light up a room.

"Hey Wall-man, this is Zatanna." she gestured to the other girl.

"Hi! Nice to meet you." She stuck her hand out and I shook it.

"I'm Wally not 'Wall-man'" I glanced over at Artemis. She shrugged, Dick is gonna like this girl. We waited awhile, then Megan and Connor walked in we all greeted them. Then came Dick and Kaldur, finally Cameron Makent. I looked over and saw Artemis rolled her eyes when he came in, Dick and Cameron were friends in high school. I personally never liked him, he's a douche. But Dick is friends with him and it's his trip so I can't complain.

"Well hey gorgeous" Cameron winked at Arty. She scoffed and turned to talk to Megan.

"Come on guys our ride is here." We all turned to Dick. We grabbed our bags and walked to the huge black bus, it looked like a tour bus but 10x bigger. We stepped on the bus and all sat down. I knew Dick would already be all over Zatanna, he was beside her. I saw Artemis sitting by herself and I knew Cameron would try to sit by her so I walked over to her.

"This seat taken?" I smiled at her, she looked up.

"Yep, by you." I sat down next to her.

"I was trying to save you from Cameron." she laughed.

"Well you did cause he seems upset." she pointed to a sour looking Cameron. I laughed, I looked over and she pulled out her phone.

"Wanna take a picture?" i nodded and she held up her phone. She made a goofy looking face so I done the same. She took the picture and smiled at it.

"A work of art, i'll send it to you."

The rest of the trip was pretty silent, except for Cameron complaining the whole time, Megan asking everybody if they want homemade cookies, and me of course eating them. I looked over at Arty who was asleep, the bus moved slightly and her head laid on my shoulder. I smiled at the sight of her, it's very unlikely for people to look good while sleeping. But she did. She looked peaceful, I heard someone snickering. I looked over and saw Dick laughing with Zatanna. I rolled my eyes, I looked back at Arty. Her eyes started to flutter open,

"Oh my gosh, i'm so sorry." She lifted her head up.

"Your fine, if you were bothering me I would have woke you up."

"Okay everyone we are here!"

Artemis's POV

I looked up and saw a huge beach house. Damn, Dick has to be loaded. We all got our bags and headed to the house, we walked in and was greeted by a massive white living room.

"So if you all want you can go pick you rooms upstairs." Zatanna grabbed my hand and dragged me up the huge white staircase. She picked rooms right next to each other, I was in one she was in the other. I walked into the room Zatanna pretty much picked for me. I laid my bags down and knocked on the door that connected mine and Zatanna's room. She opened it up,

"Do you wanna go down to the beach?" I asked.

"Sure let me go put on a bathing suit."

"Okay i'll meet you in the hallway." She nodded and shut the door. I went through my suitcase and pull out a green two piece bathing suit, I slipped it on and walked out in the hallway with a beach bag in my hand.

"Hey neighbor." I turned around and saw Wally.

"Hey" I smiled. I could see his cheeks were flushed. Zatanna walked out and greeted us both,

"Do you and Dick wanna come down to the beach with us?" He nodded and quickly went and changed.

"I'll go tell Dick to get ready." he jogged off to Dick's room. After about 15 minutes Wally came out and so did Dick. We all walked down to the beach together,

"Got any snacks in there?" Wally pointed to my bag. I nodded and pulled out a bag of chips handing it to him. He broke the bag open and began eating them. We finally made it to the water, I laid down a towel and sat on it. I grabbed a book out of my bad and began to read it.

"Hey Arty, aren't you getting in the water?" I looked up at the redhead.

"Not right now, Baywatch." I smiled watching his face get bright red. He had bright red swimming trunks on which made him look like a life guard.

"Wow." He walked up to me and smiled. I raised an eyebrow, he quickly grabbed me and ran to the water.

"Wallyy! Put me down!" he threw me in the water, but before he let go I grabbed him and dragged him in with me. We both laughed.

Zatanna'a POV

I leaned over to Dick and whispered,

"They will definitely be together soon." He nodded in agreement as we watched them splash each other in the water.
