Chapter 18 ~ Cheating

Artemis's POV

Me and Wally have been dating for 8 months now. We moved in with each other and even got a dog! He's a white pit bull and his name is Brucely. It's been absolutely amazing, well until this month. He's been so distant lately. He comes home super late and whenever I ask him out he says he's to busy. I've talked to Dick about it but he said Wally would never do anything to hurt me, but what if he finds someone better than me.. What if he already has?! So i'm gonna confront him about it. I sat on the couch making myself miserable with my thoughts. It's 11:00 pm and Wally finally decides to come back home.

"Hey i'm home." I nod and continue to think about how to ask him.

"You okay?" He asks taking off his coat placing it on a hook on the wall. I could feel tears start to form in my eyes, I tried to wipe them away before he could see. But it was obviously to late.

"Babe, what's wrong?" he sat next to me and placed a hand on my leg.

"A-are you.. never mind." I brought my knees to my chest which cause his hand to fall off of it.

"Talk to me, Artemis." He looked at me dead in the eyes.

"Are you cheating on me?" I said quietly but loud enough for him to hear. He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair,

"it was one mistake." My eyes went wide, I covered my mouth as tears began to flow out of my eyes.

"It didn't mean anything. I swear." He placed a hand on mine but I quickly pulled it away.

"Don't touch me." I could see a few tears forming in his eyes.

"Artemis please." How could he do this to me. After everything we've been through.

"I need to go." I quickly got up and threw on a jacket and shoes. He grabbed my arm before I opened the door.

"Don't go.. let's talk about this." I jerked my arm away.

"G-get the hell away from me!" Tears poured out of my eyes. The only place I knew to go was Zee's house. I got in the car and began to drive.

Wally's POV

Oh god what have I done. I love that girl, how could I be so stupid! It was one mistake.. that lead to another one.. and another one. I let her get into my head again! Now I lost my soulmate. My phone began to buzz, I picked it up and answered it.

Dick- What the hell did you do?

W- I messed up.

D- yea no shit.

W- She hates me.

D- She has every right to! What the hell were you thinking?! You've messed up your relationship for some girl? Who even is it!

W- Linda..

D- Wally.. seriously?

W- Artemis was gone visiting her Uncle and she just showed up! I was lonely.. and I wasn't thinking straight!!

D- that's no excuse. I'm so disappointed with you right now. Zatanna said she's really upset, I can't even talk to you. Good bye.

W- Bye..

I threw my phone against the wall, I knew what I had done was wrong. But I was so angry. Angry at myself for letting all of this happen. Angry at myself for hurting Artemis and all for what? Just to get laid. I picked up my phone and saw a text from Linda and Zatanna.

*Linda- I miss you. Come over.*

*Zatanna- What is wrong with you?! You know how much she has gone through! I thought you were different.*

I sat on the couch with my hands on my head. How am I gonna fix this? I don't know if I can. I need to talk to her now.
