"If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking."
James 1:5 NLT
I've always loved this verse, because I've never known quite which way to go on my own. I'm the type of person who could get lost in my own hometown if my GPS isn't on. Going through life sometimes feels like going through your hometown, but sometimes it feels like going through a completely unfamiliar place. Either way, what are you going to trust- your own knowledge or God's guidance?
Unlike the world, God will never rebuke you for asking for wisdom. It can be about literally anything- He just wants us to ask! Not just when we think we need it, but always. Because the truth is, we need directions in our own towns just as much as we need them in other places.
Have you ever heard the phrase "knowledge is power?" If knowledge is power, wisdom is peace. I remember when I first read this post I was in high school and I had no idea where to go with my life. But after I asked God for wisdom, even before He answered my prayer, I felt peace. Having faith isn't just about knowing God will carry out His plan, but also about knowing He will provide you with wisdom when the time is right. So if you are lacking wisdom, ask- and God will be so glad to give it you you!
