Chapter 28

Y/N's POV

" I told you not to drink too much cause you had a mission today, now you are complaining that your head hurts." Kai continued in nagging me while he was staying in my shoulders. I just sighed and apologized, my head really hurts. But still I can manage to finish this mission as long as I'm not going to face an upper rank demon. But now that Oyakata-sama give me a long mission it means I'm going to face an upper moon.

" You didn't even inform me earlier Kai." I said making him peck my head as I whine in pain. But maybe I didn't even heard him cause I'm busy in dringking too much. I'm just so disappointed and hurt yesterday, but now I'm feeling a little bit better. Also I decided to accept the truth that Kyojuro really is gone.

Anyways, my mission for today is to investigate a certain place where all the worshipers of a certain person was always found dead or even disappeared. It might be a lower moon demon who ate them but it's imposible, not even one of them showed. But upper rank demons started to show themselves, Uzui-san and Tanjiro returned but they are injured also Uzui-san retired, while Tanjiro was still unconcious.

I'm happy that Uzui-san managed to survived while fighting upper moon six. I wonder if Kyojuro- I then shook my head, I shouldn't think about him for now. It's been a week already, so I should get used in not thingking about him for a while. I don't want to make everyone worried about me. Especially Oyakata-sama, he is getting weaker and weaker now. Also he can't stand up anymore, I feel bad that I can't visit him. But he told me not to visit him for a while, so I obeyed him even if I really wanted to see him.

" Y/N-sama, we should stop for a while in the village near us." Kai said who is now flying making me nod, well the place where I'm going is too far, according to Oyakata-sama it will take one day for me to arrived. I wanted to continued without stopping but because I still have my hangover I need to take some food.

It's already night and I decided to continue in walking. I already finished resting and ate some food so my body is not feeling heavy anymore. Thanks to the owner of the restaurant who gave me a food for hangover I can finally focus on my mission. Kai also disappeared so suddenly when we left the village, he just left me.

" Y/N-sama." I flinched when I heard him suddenly spoke while landing in my shoulder.

" Kai, I thought you already left me also don't startle me." I said making him apologize but I smiled and asked him a question. " So what did you find?"

" I find a demon lurking around in this area also I found a small house near towards it." I widened my eyes and started running making him also fly besides me. Like Kai said I can sense a demon nearby, but can I make it in time? I knew there are people who are living in here away from the village and the city.

I then heard a scream of a young girl so I fasten my speed and pulled my sword. I then saw a demon beside the house while grabbing a young man in the neck. I dashed towards it before cutting the arms to let go of the man and then twist my body using the second form of the water breathing before cutting it's head.

The demon then crumbled making me sighed in relief before putting my sword back and turned my back to check the man who got caught. He was now hugging the girl who is crying making me smile. I'm happy thay they are fine and no one is hurt also for me making in time. I then decided to leave them but the man suddenly spoke.

" Wait." I stopped before turning my back, the two of them are facing me with a thankful smile. " Thank you, how can we pay you?" I just shooked my head and return a smile.

" No it's okay, as long as the two of you are fine. I need to go now, take care." I said and started walking away, Kai then also met me before he landed to my shoulder. He told me that the place was near making me walk faster. I should hurriedly find the demon who devour it's worshipers.
