"Can I sit here," Haru heard you approach him, "There are no other seats inside but I can sit outside if you don't want me here."

"You could take the table," Haru simply said, grabbing his coffee and his bag.

You quickly set your coffee down and waved your hands in front, "No, no. This was your table first, we could just share it if that's okay?"

Haru nodded and set his things back down as you pulled out the chair and sat. Neither of you spoke to each other as Haru was doing his paperwork, having to turn in a case report as soon as he got to the Third Division office. You, on the other hand, pulled out a blueprint for one of your newest inventions. Like Suzue, you had an interest in engineering but you also had an interest in criminal justice like Daisuke. You wanted to create nanobots that could pilot themselves and capture footage, like a new-age type of spying equipment. You were close to solving it but you just had to figure out how to make them self aware of the target. Haru looked up as he saw you layout your blueprint, trying to make sense of it.

"What is that for," Haru asked subconsciously.

You looked up and smiled, caused Haru to faintly blush as he saw your excited expression, "It's for a nanobot prototype I'm creating to help investigators. I want to make it easier for them to get survivance on a suspect and not have to follow them in person."

This immediately caught Haru's attention as he pushed the paperwork aside to talk to you about it, admitting he was an investigation himself. The conversation went smoothly from there as you both talked about his line of work, his passion for justice leaving you in awe while your inventions and intelligence made him admire you. It wasn't long before the conversation trailed off course and you two started speaking about other things, mainly each other. However when names were brought up, you quickly tried to deflect. People always became nicer to you because you were a Kambe but you didn't want that, you wanted to just be you.

"My last name isn't important, you can just call me Y/n," you nervously laughed and hoped he wouldn't ask why.

Although Haru was confused, he said nothing, "Kato Haru. Use Haru since I'm calling you by your first name."

And aside from that, the conversation once again until he had to leave and go to work. However, you decided to ask for his number which he quickly complied with, feeling interested in you on a personal and romantic level. Meeting someone has never felt so natural and he found you attractive, your feelings matching his. You were both passionate about your jobs and gave it your full attention, not focusing on dating, but perhaps this encounter will change that.

"Daisuke," Haru heard a familiar voice yell out as someone opened the door to the Third Division's office.

Haru looked towards Daisuke who seemed to recognize the voice and turned to the door, shocked to see you standing there. Although, you didn't notice him and immediately went to Daisuke, making Haru gape in shock. He was trying to deduce why you were talking to Daisuke, or why you even knew Daisuke, which Daisuke noticed. He turned towards the brunette before looking back at you but quickly turned to you as you smacked him upside the head. Everyone in the Division looked shocked as Daisuke touched the back of hid head and looked at you, expecting for him to retaliate. Despite working with him for a while now, no one actually laid hands on him or messed with him like that. Haru would grab onto his collar and lift him up at most, but he never acted out more than that so seeing you hit him shocked everyone.

Daisuke simply turned to look at you, "Was that necessary?"

"You forgot your glasses," you sighed and took them out of your pocket, "And yeah, you're annoying."

Daisuke just looked at you and then nodded, not bothering to thank you.

"Wow okay, I see how it is. No 'thank you, my favorite sister, who I love,'" you turned away from him before looking at everyone and bowing, finally noticing Haru, "Oh, sorry for not introducing myself. Kambe Y/n, the youngest Kambe sibling. I hope my brother has been tolerable and thank you for taking care of him."

"K-Kambe," Haru gaped as he looked at you.

The office was once again shocked as they realized you had connections to Haru as well, also not believing Daisuke had a sibling as calm and open as you. None of them have met Suzue except Haru so they all imagined you all to be copies of your older brother, which you would hate.

"Sorry for not telling you," you nervously smiled and rubbed your neck, "I didn't want my last name to affect how you saw me, since most people are nicer cause of it, ya know? If you don't still want to go on that date, we can just cancel. I'm sorry for lying."

Your brother's interest was immediately peaked as you said that, the whole office watching this event like it was from a show. Haru instantly became flustered and hostile at your remark as he tensed up, noticing the eyes on him. You two have been texting and meeting up for the past month or so and he finally found the courage to ask you on a date, which you immediately agreed to. The date was scheduled for later today and Haru didn't tell you his plans yet, the suspense and excitement killing you. Daisuke knew you wouldn't be home due to going somewhere but he didn't know his partner would be the reason and as date nonetheless.

"NO," he semi-shouted before blushing and clearing his throat, "I meant to say no, I'll still pick you up."

Your face became scarlet and you meekly nodded before walking towards the door, stopping to turn and walk to Haru's desk. You quickly placed a chaste kiss on his cheek and ran out the door, stopping at the doorway to say goodbye to everyone.

"We might finally get a new case soon if Kato gets unexplainable murdered," Kamei laughed, causing everyone to go back to normal, "That was a nice distraction from work."

Although Daisuke didn't say anything about the matter, knowing his sister would do what she wanted anyway, Daisuke couldn't help but resent the brunette. He didn't make it that obvious, or at least he assumed so. His face was still stoic but his eyes were a lot colder and he couldn't help but glance at Haru. However, Haru didn't notice as he was too busy watching the door, a flustered expression on his face. He was definitely excited about the date later tonight, which Daisuke may or may not have spied on. Despite his cold exterior, Daisuke would always remain protective.
