The real Chapter 28

Chapter 28

Landon sat staring at me in the doorway.  No, frigging way.  I can't let him be my partner.  Maybe, I can, lie?  I can't have him as a partner; it would just make our already strenuous relationship even worse.  I'm pretty sure I looked like I was trying to decide something.  I need to get my act together once and for all.  I can't keep on acting the way I have.  I can't keep on letting people take the blame for me.  I mean come on I'm suppose to fight in some great battle.  Speaking of, I need to do a little research about that.  Anyways, I can't drag someone into that let alone Landon.  Speaking of, I still have feelings for but I'm not sure if they good or bad.  Urgh, I can't believe I'm thinking of him again!  Then again, he is supposed to be my partner.  Too bad, he'll never have a chance.

Alexia: Are you sure about this Dae?  This is a pretty high-risk thing you're trying here.

Me: I'm sure.  I can't drag him into my life even more.

Alexia: What if he's willing though?

Me: I won't let him be willing.

Alexia: Wouldn't he need to know of the situation then?

Me: Shut up Alexia.

Alexia: You're just grumpy because you know I'm right.

Me: Anyways, who's the One Who Chooses?

Alexia: Bye!

I accidently made a growling sound in the back of my throat out of irritation.

"Dae, Dae, woo-hoo are you home?" Landon was about three inches from me.  I stepped back not wanting to get too close to him.

"Sorry, but I-I didn't picture you when I opened the door," I lied to him.  I felt heat rush to my cheeks.  Gosh, the one time I need to lie I'm horrible at it.  Then again, I'm always horrible at lying.  Like that time when...

"Dae, snap out of it, its okay," Landon said nonchalantly while putting his hands in his sweatshirt pocket.  I looked up and saw that I wasn't the only one lying.  He shrugged his shoulders.  "At least this doesn't make our relationship even more awkward," he said.  If you only knew the truth.  I nodded at him.
