Chapter 26

We stopped in front of a large door.  A girl would walk in, and, usually, would walk out holding hands with a guy smiling.  There was one coincidence where a girl came out looking mad with no one by her side.  She was simply told to go stand against a wall and wait till everyone was done.  She probably didn't get partner and now she's upset about it.  "Dae Lynch," said Headmistress Samantha.  I snapped my head at her in confusion, but she just gestured to the room to the right.  Oh, whoops, kind of zoned out.  I really need to start acting better.  I swear, this school has sucked my maturity right out of me.

"Anytime now," someone yelled at the back of the line.  I threw a glare at the girl and walked over to the room.  The door shut softly behind me.  I looked around the bare room.  It had three doors on the right and two on the left.  They all looked soundproof and there weren't any little windows in them.   I sighed and made my way over to the door.  Headmistress Samantha had told us to just place our forehead on the door and concentrate on who we thought was behind the door.

I place my forehead against the cold, blue iron door.  I couldn't help but think of a redhead kid with an afro and freckles dotting his face.  He was tall and kind of icky looking with messed up teeth.  It would just be my luck that it was him that I have as a partner.  "Do you have your image thought up yet?" asked an old frail voice that sounded like piglet.  I jumped back and put a hand to my heart.

"Holy cow, do you have to keep on scaring me?" I asked Professor Katherine as she bent over laughing and slapping her knee.  Wow, I thought that was just a phrase.  I never knew people actually bent over and slapped their knee when they laugh.

"Oh dear, we must quit meeting like this," she said as she straightened up.

"Agreed, and yes, I do have my image made up," I said while scrunching my nose.  Professor Katherine nodded and took out a key and handed it to me.  I took the hard, metal key and pushed it into the lock of the door.  I opened up softly and almost laughed.  The guy in the room was the complete opposite.  He was short with brown hair, no freckles, and model teeth.  He looked at me hopefully, but I just shook my head.  He sat back down in the chair.  I turned around and shut the door softly.  I leaned against it and blew through my nose.

"Not what you expected?" Professor Katherine asked and I laughed while shaking my head.  I walked over to the other door and placed my forehead on it again.  I pictured a guy with light skin in a wheel chair.  He has light blonde hair and light blue eyes.  I sighed.

"Hand me the stupid key," I said.  Professor Katherine tossed the silver key through the air.  I couldn't help but be fascinated by the way the key twinkled when it went through moonlight.  I snatched my hand up and caught it perfectly.  Whoa, that was cool.

I took in a deep breath and opened up the door.  Well I got part of it right at least.  He WAS in a wheel chair, but he was very dark skinned with dark hair and dark brown eyes.  He looked up at me hopeful and I had to shake my head once again.  I shut the door and moved on to another one across the room.  Just three more to go, I thought glumly.  I set my forehead on the hard door and I imagined Josh there standing impatiently with his finger in his pocket.  I turned around and caught the key right on time, again.  I turned the key and I couldn't help but laugh.   There, sitting on the ground was a huge buff guy.  He has blond hair and the cutest dimples when he smiled.

"I'm sorry," I said and shook my head.  He waved me off.

"No problem," he mumbled.  "Oh, and if you're wondering I'm Drake."  I nodded my head at him.

"Dae, I guess I'll go now," I mumbled and shut his door.  I went to the next door.  Once again I placed my forehead on the door.  I saw Connor lying on the ground trying to nap.  "Key me Seymour," I said to Professor Katherine who just laughed at me.

"Little Shop of Horrors, very good!" she said while still laughing.  I slipped the key into the lock and opened the door.  Laying on the ground was a little skinny kid with freckles and brown messy hair.  It actually looked like he was asleep.  I couldn't help myself.

"HEY!" I yelled.  He jumped up right away and his head on the open door.  He looked shocked for a second and then he glared at me.  I, on the other hand, was leaning in the doorway laughing my butt off.  "I-I'm sorry!  Y-you should have seen your f-face!" I laughed.  I was surprised when he even chuckled a little.

"So, are you my...?" he trailed off awkwardly.

"No, sorry!"  I said before shutting the door.  I walk back into the main room to see Professor Katherine laughing.  "Why, Professor Katherine you can't be laughing at a poor student's pain?" I asked in mock horror.

"You saw his face!" she said while wiping a tear from her white face.

"I think we're going to get along just fine," I said while going to the next door.  This is the last one, I thought excitedly.  However, I moved my forehead away from the door.  "Question, if I don't guess who this his correctly, can I simply not have a partner?" I asked quietly.  Professor Katherine's eyes looked like she was trying to decide something.

Finally, she sighed, "Maybe, if you don't guess who this is, I suppose I can talk to Headmistress Samantha," Professor Katherine said while shrugging a little.  I felt my face break into a smile.

"Thank you Professor Katherine!" I said excitedly.

"Call me Katy," I nodded.  I moved my forehead back to the door.  A image of Landon popped into my head.  I saw him sitting on the hard concrete ground with his blue-green eyes looking at the door anxiously.  I turned around and Katy through me the last key.  I caught it and looked at it.  This one simple key can change my whole life.  I took in a deep breath and opened up the door.  I looked down to see....

.:. Gosh, I'm just horrible.  I give you such  short chapter and I end it like THAT!!!  *shudder* what have I become!!!!!!  :)  Anyways, who do you think is sitting on the ground?  Do you think it's Landon or just some kid.
