Swirling dust,
And nothing more
Had formed me
Years and years before.
Slowly waltzing,
With the passing of time,
I have grown…
In wisdom and strength…
In valor and faith.
Amidst the murky darkness
Of the silent night,
My heart – it shone:
Unwavering, unafraid,
Although almost invisible.
Winds came,
Blowing disguises away…
And the hands of time
Slowly, oh so slowly,
Washed away my youth.
But, what did it prove?
The core is unchanged,
The heart still the same…
Until the last gasp,
And the last flood of light.
I… am a star,
Among millions of others.
A point of light in a world of darkness…
A speck of dust in a realm deemed endless.
And that… is my truth.
So many others soon will come
And maybe, they'll exceed the sum
That I have earned while yet I lived...
They'll take the honors unreceived...
But I won't care; just let them shine
Just let them take what once was mine.
The sky won't be an empty stage
It's youthful glow will never change.
This is the creed I hold on to:
A promise which is ringing true.
