It was in festive January
When first our eyes had met.
I found in you a sanctuary:
Sweet bliss which I can get.
Progressing from our timid greetings,
We both began to dream
Of bridal flowers, wedding rings --
A future as a team.
And in the month of February
You were my Valentine...
Then, I can't see why I'd be dreary --
For I could call you mine.
Our problems came when April started;
We both were shaken so...
I shed my tears; you're what I wanted
But now I see: You know.
So we went on with work while playing
A game that they've called love...
We never thought of what they're saying;
We touched the sky above!
It's now October... still we're going
Faithful -- ever strong.
My love for you -- 'tis what I'm singing
In this: a brand new song.
Nine months, it's been; and we're still counting...
I wish it never ends.
My heart speaks of a spark igniting...
We're always more than friends.
A/N: A friend requested. =) I hope it suits her purpose.
Dedicated to Destiny Jane Nicolle (No, she's not the one who asked for this.) It's her birthday today, and I think she'll somehow appreciate a poem like this too. =) Happy birthday Eynee!
