32. Labor/ Delivery- Hunter 💛

I am more than a week from my due date so our baby girl will be here very soon. Second children can be early so we are kinda expecting her to come early. That's okay as we are so ready to meet baby Hailey. Hunter and I can't wait to be parents again and Ezra can't wait to be a big brother to his baby sister. We are still spending time as a family but very soon we will be a family of four. We are sat on the couch having some family time before bed. Ezra is playing with his toys and we are watching TV. Hunter has his arms around me and is holding me close. We love watching our little boy play and have fun with his toys. "Are you enjoying playing, buddy?" Hunter asks Ezra. "Yep. Daddy can you play with me" he replies. "Sure, bud" he replies. I sit on the couch and watch the boys play for a while. As I'm sitting I feel a contraction coming on. I remember what they feel like from when I was pregnant with Ezra. Hunter looks at me and says "Are you okay, honey? You look uncomfortable". "I'll be okay. Just a contraction" I reply. "You're going into labor then. Yay!" he said. "Yeah maybe. You boys carry on playing. I'll let you know if it gets any worse" I reply. The boys carry on playing till my contractions get worse. I was calculating them and they were just over 10 minutes apart so not enough to go to the hospital yet. When they were just a few minutes, I let Hunter know and he got me ready to take to the hospital. He called his parents to come and watch Ezra for the night while we go to the hospital. They arrive pretty soon. "Right we better get off. Everything should be handy. We'll let you know when your granddaughter has arrived" Hunter said to his parents. "Can't wait. So exciting" his mom said. We say goodbye and get out to the car and drive to hospital. Hunter drives quick but not too quick

We arrived at the hospital pretty soon. Hunter parks up outside and takes in his arms and carries me in to the maternity centre. My waters broke in the car on the car. I remember it happened pretty quickly with Ezra. They get me into a room and start examining me. "Mrs Hayes, you're already 7cm dilated. This is your second baby. Right?" the midwife asks. "Yes it is. Our second baby and it's a little girl" I reply. "Great. I'll be back soon to check on you again" she said. The midwife leaves the room leaving Hunter and I alone. "Wow! Labor has happened pretty quick" Hunter said. "I know. I hope it's not a long labor like last time. My labor with Ezra was over 12 hours but it felt like a lifetime. We wait in the room till I'm fully dilated. I'm not yet but I'm more than halfway dilated. I didn't think it would happen this quick. Then again labor is meant to be shorter with your second child. Hunter gets us drinks and stays by my side. "Soon our baby girl will be here and we'll be parents of two beautiful children" Hunter said. "Yes we will be and I can't wait" I reply. He smiles and kisses my hand. We've been at the hospital for about 3 hours now and I'm about a centimetre and a half away from being fully dilated. Not long now. Our little girl will be here so soon. When I was fully dilated, I get ready to push. I have forgotten what it feels like to give birth. "Baby, you're doing amazing. Our little girl is almost here" Hunter said. "Nearly there, Y/ N. Just a few more pushes" the midwife said. I push a few more times and then baby Hailey was born. Awwww she's so beautiful too

When Hailey was born, the midwives cleaned her off and wrapped her in a blanket and put a hat on her. I got to hold her first and did skin to skin contact. That's how I got to hold Ezra for the first time when he was born. "Hey, baby girl. Aren't you beautiful?" I say. "She is. So beautiful. Just like her momma" Hunter said. "Hunter, I can't believe we have two beautiful children now. We are so lucky and so blessed" I say. "We certainly are. Ezra can't wait to meet his little sister" he said. "I'm sure he can't. He can meet her when we bring her home" I reply. I soon hand Hailey to Hunter so he can hold her. "Hey, Angel. You're so beautiful" he said kissing her cheek gently. "Awwww" I say. "She's amazing. We have a daughter now, Y/ N" he said. "She is and we sure do, Hunter" I smile. We take a while to get to know our newborn daughter. We let our families know that Hailey is here safely even though it's the middle of the night and they'll be asleep. We can't wait to take her home hopefully tomorrow night and Ezra can't wait to meet her too. We are now officially a family of four and we couldn't be happier. Our little girl is here
