Grant looked up as someone walked in. He froze- it was the girl from before, the one who'd caused him so much trouble. She was just as beautiful as he remembered. She was wearing an icy blue tank top with a black skirt and striped, lacy leggings that went to her mid thigh with black high heels.

"Everyone this is Serenity, and she's the new student." He heard the teacher say. After that he kind of zoned out.

Serenity, it was a beautiful name, but he wasn't sure it fit her. Not that she wasn't beautiful, but serenity meant calm, collected, nonviolent. She seemed all these things now, but what about before? He still had the bump on his head from a week ago.

She was moving now, to right next to him. She flipped her hair and looked back- only for their eyes to meet. He saw her eyes widen, not by a lot, in fact he wouldn't have noticed it if he wasn't looking for a reaction from her. Then slowly she smiled. It was amazing and it had his stomach tightening.

All the rest of the class he stared at her. It wasn't creeper-like, 'cause everyone was staring too. Even Amber, Mrs. Popular was jealous and already thinking about how to embarrass Serenity in front of everyone.

Amber wasn't used to there being any competition and all of a sudden she was blown away by it. Even though she's determined to keep her place as top of the school, in Grants opinion she lost that battle, and he would bet everyone besides Amber and her followers think that as well.

The bell rang, signifying the end of first period. Before any of the guys could make a move, Amber grabbed her arm and pulled her into the hallway.

"You think just because you're wearing nice clothes and your blonde you'll get guys attention?" Amber asked loudly and the hatred in her tone was clear. "Well your wrong. I'm the one every ones focused on at this school and you'd best remember it." she said practically spitting in Serenity's face.

"You may think you are so popular now, but by the end of the week you'll see the truth." Serenity said untouched by Amber's snide comment.

Everyone could see her bristling with rage. "I'll remember this, and by the time I'm done with you you'll be on your knees begging me to forgive you."

"Please, if you need someone on their knees in front of you, go talk to the football players. I'm sure they'll be happy to," She smiled hugely before continuing, "Before they find out I'm available." With that she turned and walked away, leaving Amber red faced and humiliated. Grant thought 'Guess that backfired.' and followed after Serenity.

He caught up and introduced himself while people stared at them as they walked down the hallways. I'm Grant. It's nice to finally know your name."

"Ya, I guess you remember me then." she looked at him and got confirmation. "Listen, you-"

"I won't tell anyone." he said surprising her. "I want to be friends."

"Who was that terrible girl?" she asked changing the subject.

He smiled, knowing what she was trying to do. "Her name is Amber and she's considered popular. What class do you have next?"

'I'll have to learn more about this Amber person.' she thought as she took out her schedule. " I have English 4."

"Well I have Math. Let me see." He gestured toward the paper in her hand. She handed it to him as he unconsciously started leading her to the senior English room. "Well it seems like you and me have everything besides Math and English together." he said with a grin.

"I'm looking forward to it." she said. The hallways were emptying, people were already on their way to class.

"Good." he again surprised her, by kissing her. He gently placed his lips over hers, hinting at pleasure, promising fun. Then he pulled away, leaving her wanting. "See you next period." he said smiling as he walked away.

"See you." she said to quite for any human to hear. 'Thank goodness no-one saw that.' she thought looking around the hallways and seeing they were empty. She still wanted to seem available, for now...
