Dahlia sat on a big couch

Dahlia sat on a big couch. The room smelt of copper and metal and she tried her best not to breathe it in. She did not like the smell.

Her wide blue eyes were set on the painting that hung in the wall. It wasn't very special, it was not worth a second glance. But Dahlia found it beautiful. She loved the paining of the outside. She liked to look at the little animals that had been painted onto the picture, and the trees.  She longed to be in the painting. She wanted to meet those foreign little animals and feel the grass on her feet.

It had been three days since she found herself under the company of her new friends. She was gifted a small little bedroom, with very little furniture and little room, but she liked it very much. They gave her books to keep her occupied, though she was often with Clint.

Dahlia did not quite understand why they were holding her there. She did not know of their watchful eyes or the notes that they took when she was around. Though she wasn't frightened; she enjoyed her time. The food that she had tried was more than delicious, and she enjoyed the little things that Clint was beginning to show her.

She enjoyed her new found friends, even if she was oblivious to the fact that she wasn't entirely just a guest.

Clint stood outside the common room, watching her for a moment before he stepped into the room. He had spent the last few days watching her very carefully. He was appalled at how human she was and how she looked like she was just another girl. He felt very strongly for her; every day she reminded him for and more of his wife and the little girl at home. Even though Dahlia was not of Earth, they seemed to have the same shaped eyes.

Dahlia had not noticed his presence and when his hand gently touched her arm, she jumped at the touch. When she turned to look at him, a smile spread across her face.

"Hello, friend." The Princess smiled at him. "I did not hear you come!"

Clint laughed quietly. He very much enjoyed the presence of her. Working in SHEILD and being so far away from his family, her happiness was refreshing.

"How are you doing today?" He asked as he sat on the couch. "Why are you staring at the picture?"

"I like it. What are those?" She pointed to a small woods animal that she had never seen before. She thought it was the cutest thing she'd ever laid eyes on.

"What? Oh, that's a rabbit. A bunny."

"A bunny?" Dahlia laughed at the name. "It's very sweet. What is that one?"

"That's a fox."

Dahlia nodded. "Perhaps I shall see them."
