"Mother, do you truly believe that this is the right thing for Dahlia to do?" Fleur asked

"Mother, do you truly believe that this is the right thing for Dahlia to do?" Fleur asked. She was sitting on her bed, her small fingers pulling in loose threads. The idea of her older sister leaving caused a painful hole to erupt in her heart. She did not want to part with Dahlia.

"It is what is needed." The Queen answered. She too did not want her eldest daughter and heir to leave for Asgard. She knew very well of the plans that Odin had in store for her daughter. A part of her believed it to be blamed for what had happened between them all those years ago. Surely he could not still be holding onto such anger, such feelings.

Dahlia was neatly folding a few dresses into the same golden box she had gotten as a gift those few weeks ago. They fit easily enough, as she did not have many, and the books were added on top. She hoped that her dear friend would help her learn to read.

She was dressed in the same dress she wore when she first met them; though the green ribbon that came on the box was now wrapped around her waist, and tied in a bow just above her bottom. She looked ravishing.

"It shall only be for a short while." Dahlia told her younger sister. "And then I will be back to cause trouble with you yet again."

The Queen smiled at her daughter. They were ever so alike.

"Do you believe they will like me? The Asgardian's, I mean?" Dahlia looked at her mother. "I have never been with so many people, it will be so overwhelming."

"They will simply adore you," The Queen set her hand on her daughters cheek. "Just as everyone adores Fleur and you."

"Will you send me gifts?" Fleur asked.

Dahlia smiled brightly at her sister, though her worries were hardly at bay. "Why, of course! I will send you the most beautiful gown and slippers."

"There be no reason for all that." The Queen told the young Princesses. She loved the simply way that they lived. Then she smiled, "But, I believe the both of us look quite lovely in red." What Queen and Princess did not deserve a lovely gown for an occasion. Or perhaps, to feel quite beautiful.

Dahlia smiled. "I shall send you a thousand of them if you would like."

"Perhaps the bed shall be placed closer to the window? The Princess loves to look at the stars." Loki directed.

The servants preparing the room for the Princess obeyed Loki's direction, and he thanked them for it.

"I did not realize how well known you are of the Princess." Frigga told her son, with joking in her tone and a smile on her face.

"I would just like for her to feel comfortable, during her stay." Loki told his mother; refusing to entertain her joke any longer. Though, and he had only realized it now, that his enthusiasm to help with her chambers did not help his case.

"Very well. I asked the seamstress to sew a few gowns for the Princess, for while she is in our attendance." Frigga looked carefully at her son, reading his emotions. "I believe I asked them to be colored in green, and other variations of course."

Loki nodded. His heart bested faster at the thought of the Princess in green; not only his favorite of colors but also because she looked so lovely in it.

Frigga smiled at him. "Well, I believe that my presence is most likely needed for the celebration at the end of the week."

"Mhm," Loki hummed. "You there, the Princess is from Alfheim. She does not know of golden relics. Paintings of the forest around us will be ether suited for her."

Dahlia had been up since before the sun rose the morning of her departure. The excitement and nervousness in her stomach never settled, and she found herself as excited as she had been the day that her friends had come in the first place.

Fleur slept passed the sunrise that morning; not wanting to accept that her sister would be leaving. She had talked with her mother the night before, and was reminded that Dahlia was of age, and meant that she may need to do things that would take her from Alfheim. But only for a short while.

The Queen did not sleep a wink. Her heart ached at the thought of her precious daughter leaving their peaceful home. She knew very well what Asgard was like, and she knew how innocent that her daughter was. She couldn't bare for anyone to take advantage of Dahlia's kindness. The thought of having Thor and Loki as her friends calmed the Queen slightly, but it still worried her. Asgardian men were not always as proper as they are told of.

It was late morning when the Bifrost opened and the God of Thunder walked through it. The red cape was flying behind him in the mightiest way, and Dahlia was more than excited to see her friend.

"Queen Freyja, it is with honor that I am here in Alfheim again. Princess', hello to you." The God winked playfully at the Princesses and they both laughed at their friend.

"Thor, we welcome you back as well. May I offer you some refreshments before your departure?" The Queen offered, wanting to delay the inevitable.

"I wish I could, but I am under direct orders to return to Asgard quickly. There is very important matters that I am needed for." Thor nodded at the Queen.

"Very well." She nodded.

Dahlia was already giving her younger sister a hug. The smaller Elf squeezed her sister tighter than ever. It would be their first time truly apart. "I shall be back soon, Fleur."

Then the older Princess gave her mother an equally tight hug. "I shall miss you more than you know." Dahlia told her mother. "Once I learn, I will write to you."

The Queen smiled and looked at her daughter. "This is your adventure, my love. Make of it as you will. Do not shy away from the world, enjoy it ever so." She gave her daughter the advice she wished she had had years ago. While it pained her to say goodbye, she did want Dahlia to see more of the realm then just Alfheim. She wished the same for Fleur one day.

Then Dahlia walked down the wooden steps and bid a farewell to the Light Elves that were upset over her departure as well. Once she reached the God, he took a hold of the box in her hands and wrapped his strong arm around Dahlia's waist. Her head reached just below his shoulders.

"Goodbye, I love you all. I shall see you very soon."  Dahlia called to her friends and family, before the Bifrost opened, and carried them away from the only place Dahlia had ever known.
