Chapter Fifty-Six: Sleeplessness

Kagome laid quietly in Sesshomaru's bed as he laid down on the futon. Gentlemanly or not he had insisted she take the bed. She tried to breath slowly, her eyes closed tight. But she was uncomfortable in the same room as him. It had been at least an hour since she had tried to go to sleep, and she turned over to look out the window, when she heard a low voice growl.

"Go to sleep."

Kagome pursed her lips together, trying to stay calm. He was much more sensitive then Inuyasha. But the thought of him made her sad.

Chapter Fifty-Seven: Loneliness

The view outside his window was beautiful, but she was blinded by the pain in her heart. How was Inuyasha and the others? Was Shippo coping well, did they even know she was alive? The time seemed to drag on forever, yet it had only been two short weeks. She glanced at the futon near by, Sesshomaru gone, but only for a few moments. She wished nothing else but to be gone of this place. The door creaked open as the Daiyokai re-entered the room. His pace slow, he was still not well, and was continually sleeping the hours away.

Kagome stood quickly from the bed, almost shaking out her body she turned to Sesshomaru.

"I would like permission to visit the garden."

He looked at her for a moment before standing himself.

"I might do good to get some air." he replied

Kagome tried her best not to say anything as long as she could go out. They finally entered the garden and the sun was brilliant. Chapter Fifty-Nine: Falling Leaves

Whatever was happening Kagome was sure they could handle, or at least she hoped. She needed to have faith in herself and sadly the tall brooding, if that's what it was, man next to her. It was a few minutes before she realized she was staring blankly at him, and that he had noticed it as well. She slowly moved her gaze away, not wanting to show any embarrassment to the powerful Daiyokai. She resigned herself to watching the falling leaves. This was all she could do for now. Clear her head so she could figure out their next move.

The moon was at it's highest peak when it hit her. She sat up quickly in her bed, the moonlight glinting through the window.

"Do you realize what time it is Miko?" Sesshomaru questioned at her sudden movement.

"Yes, Midnight," she replied. "I know what needs to be done. We won't wait for them, we will surprise them."

She turned to the Daiyokai, "But you will have to trust me."

She could almost hear his refusal. "Please," she continued.

"Fine," he said with a sigh, hearing the desperation in her voice, "What needs to be done?"

"You need to die."
